Pitching speeds

As an experiment last night I took a radar gun to my DD's 14U team practice and measured pitching speeds of all 3 of the pitchers. Used a Jugs pro-sports radar gun.

Here are the results listed in this order Age of pitcher, Fastball(avg of 5 pitches), Change up(avg of 5 pitches), and avg difference between pitches.
13 YO, 51.2 mph, 32.4 mph, 18.8 mph
12 YO, 48.2 mph, 34.4 mph, 13.8 mph
13 YO, 42.6 mph, 37 mph, 5.6 mph

ISBD: DD is 14U also. Here back East almost all of the 14U events all pitch from 43', so she practices at that distance.

Fast ball cruising speed is 52-53 MPH, drop will be about the same. Screwball velocity is more inconsistant; the faster screwball acts more like a 2 seam fastball than a true screwball

CU varies from 35-40 MPH depending on hand twist or if she is trying to throw it with a it more speed.

As mentioned previously, the only way DD (all 5'2" 110 lbs of her) is hitting 60 MPH is by throwing downhill, down wind in a hurricaine.
