BearsDad, it was a big issue to us as well. What I did was check the towns we would be playing in and find a church and the times of the services. Then when we get our game times, usually you would know Saturday evening, what time you will play if you lose, and what time if you win, and then plan church service around it. The holier than thou group may jump on us for planning church around softball - but there is an awesome quote in the bible (Mark 2:27) where Jesus must have be referring to softball, 'The sabbath was made for man, not man for the sabbath' . We have at times have had kids whose parents were ministers, and have had short prayer services at the field, following "where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I" (Matthew 18:20), also sounds like that includes softball <g>. My youngest was our spiritual leader on our teams over the years and led our group in prayer before each game.
To answer another question that might come up, when new families joined our group, I would mention that the kids do prayers before games, prepared to say that if they werent comfortable with that, they could choose another team, or not participate in the prayer. I am pretty sure that every family that joined our group after we had started our team initially, told me that they had seen this and was a reason for joining us.
