USFA has come up with an idea about pool play let us know what you think of it. We will do this type of tournament early spring and in the fall. The reasoning behind this is some teams do not like pool play at all while others want as many games as possible. Here is the concept.

Entry fee includes gate fees and umpires for Bracket games. Brackets will be double elmination.
You choose how many pool games your team plays and pay the umpires at the plate for the pool games. If you do not respond by Tuesday at noon as to how many pool games you want you will be assigned 1 pool game.

So a team could select to play 6 or 7 pool games? Is this the same cost?

We now have 23 tournaments posted in the DFW area with more to come.

Thanks Nacho I left up to 4 pool games off of ths post.

In DFW the cost is reduced from $325.00 to $250.00. Umpires are 30 a game (I think) so if a team chooses 2 pool play the total cost would be $310.00

Most of the umpire expenses are incured in the bracket games example: 20 Teams with 2 pool then double = 20 pool games and 38 bracket games total games 58.

This will make scheduling a little more challenging and may cut down on the # of teams you can take but, we are going to try it unless teams dont like the concept.
