Polynesian Girls Softball Clinic

This is a pretty cool event going on today in Long Beach, CA.
It's the inaugeral Polynesian Girls Softball Clinic hosted by various Firecracker teams.
My kid is helping out, and it's about 3 minutes from my work, so I stopped by to check it out.
Wow, there are what seems to be about 200 girls going through fielding and hitting drills.
Among the volunteers helping out, I saw players from Cal, Arizona, and Utah, so the Pac 12 is representing.
They had a bbq going, and looked to be all ages attending.
I heard Troy Polamalu was involved in the sponsoring.

It was a great event, from beginning to end. My daughter keeps talking about the college infield showcase they had in the morning.

I concur!!! This was a great camp put on by the Aiga Foundation & the Crackers org... both of my daughters had a great time.. fa'afetai tele lava!!! Much Alofa to both orgs, and the D1 players and commits that came out to share the love they have for the game.

I agree, this was such a great event. It was well worth the 7 hour drive from the Monterey Area. My daughter made some great friends and is already counting the days til next year. The best part for me was when they introduced all the girls who are attending college on scholarship. That is my little girls dream and to be amongst top Polynesian softball players was SO SO inspiring to her.

Found out about this too late for my girl. Will definitely be looking for it next year. She needs to get in touch with Guamanian side.

This clinic is good for the sport. Polynesian girls have always been a big part of softball and ha much success and many of the top colleges. Cruisers have always had Polynesian girls including this year as has Pumas . BTW our head coach Mel Sievers is Guamanian as is he son who coaches the 12s. Hafai Adai
