It's not about VTD, it's about the TD's and the parks they control. Teams want to play at nice facilities with decent umpires, and with TD's who know how to run a tournament. McKinney is a good start. Lock up Allen, Southlake, NRH, Keller and you'll be 'in the money'...

In light of the recent changes maybe I should take dfwfastpitch.com out of mothballs.

VTDs site update is headed in the wrong direction, but USFAs site is no better. Does anyone who design these sites actually use them or look at them?

OK Mr. Peanut Butter Jelly tell me what is wrong with the USFA site. Other than no brackets can be posted, we are looking into that now!

USFAs site problem is a very simple problem...too many browsers...when you click on one link it opens a new browser,,,etc etc...the whole idea of opening up new browsers was relevant back in the day...but now with all browsers having tabs, opening links with new web browsers is out dated and a pain in the rear.

One reason I do not like or look at USFA is I don't want 15 browsers open. Not in todays technology world I don't need 4 web browsers open. I probably could reformat my broswer to open up new browsers as tabs, but even then I don't want 14 tabs for one site. Instead of using redirect and opening new browsers USFA should just have it when you click a link it take you directly to the page...stop having me open up a new browser or tab.

Another reason why websites used to use this technology was because they didn't want the user to have the ability to close out their site so easily. Meaning you take me to another page within your website and I close it out with the x button..boom no more your site. So what sites started doing was opening up new browsers everytime you clicked a link within their site, this way you had to close out 4 different browsers before you left their site. I just think that in a marketing scheme sure it might work...but in a service related industry this drives people away. Just my .02

Your remark about don't these people ever use or look at these sites was right on. Most of the peple doing these sites (including our database people) are computer people trying to figure out what softball people want to have. Thanks for the input! I have never thought of those issues I will pass them along to our webmaster. Maybe just maybe he will do something about this issue!

What I am is a Softball Person trying to make a web site work. Change .com to .net and Critique that one too. I am thinking of using it for DFW no tabs in it. I will have to customize it to fit DFW.

Go to completed tournaments and look at the 14u in the top tournament (March into Spring in Mesquite in 2010).

We now have 23 tournaments posted in the DFW area with more to come.

We have come up with a new concept for pool play let us know what you think of the idea.

Entry fee includes gate fees and umpires for Bracket games. Brackets will be double elmination.
You choose how many pool games your team plays up to 4 games and pay the umpires at the plate for the pool games. If you do not respond by Tuesday at noon as to how many pool games you want you will be assigned 1 pool game.

You speak we listen! All of the USFA events listed in Crowley have been moved to Hidden Creek in Burleson, we will use Crowley as backup parks for overflow.
