Actually, if you take the time to get the facts you will find that there was absolutely no association between the alleged victims and baseball.

I think if I were the "umpire group" I would have left THIS one alone, nothing like opening a BIG can of worms, somebody has some serious huevos in that umpire group, I dont care if this guy put in 50 YEARS of umpiring, just let him go away, far away from any kids, and to honor him for his service to the community is just plain sick!

My point has nothing to do with the individual or group being umpires, but that there are so many people ready to make idiotic statements and condemn another without having, nor attempting to obtain, any facts.

I do not condone any actions of the individual, just talking about the reactions of others.

So, what you are saying is, being that there was no association between the victims and baseball, that it is ok to honor this indvidual for his years of community service?
I dont care if this individual was found guilty of a sex offense with a minor in a different COUNTRY, you still don't honor him for his service to the community. Here is how I look at it, once you do something horrific like that (sexually abusing a child), you are considered bottom of the barrell in my book and you would NEVER be honored for anything. No I do not have first hand knowledge, but obviously the judicial system found him guilty (where you get alleged I dont know), and all bets are off.

These creeps are always looking for victims. Plus, they always seem to find a way to associate with children. I am betting that his parole states that he can't be around minors at all. I am guessing everyone at the presentation had to be over 18.

I donate a lot of time and money to softball and baseball organizations. I certainly wouldn't support this group.
