We beat Austin Starz 8-1 in bracket on Saturday and they brought in a kid to pitch on Sunday that was throwing mid 40's with a NASTY change-up at about 35 mph for a strike everytime!!!! I believe that was the ONLY pitch she threw against us!!! It did the trick against us....we couldnt adjust!!!!! Anyhow, another great weekend of softball......you win some, you lose some....

They did the same thing to the Power team from Houston. Same speed with same change. Wonder if they pitched that same girl. I didn't catch the Cenla vs Stars game so can't be sure, but that was what they did to Power as well. They never made the adjustment either. I think they only had like 3 hits off her. I agree it was a wicked change. The Stars seem to be a solid team. Good luck to you guys down the road and thanks for travelling in to come play. Hope you had a safe trip home.

Congrats to the Terminators. Solid play all weekend. Definitely one of the strongest hitting teams in the tournament when they are hot.

I am not sure why people on this board believe we are a second year 14U team; this is our first year and we have only had a full team less than six months. We have four 97's, one 98, and the remainder of our girls are 96's. This is also only one of our 97 pitchers second year to play select ball. The RM was our first national showcase and we were very proud of how the girls played.

I do agree that the north texas teams are much weaker than the Houston area teams. The TD's in the area could help by not hosting all open tournaments. Host some true A tournaments including some ASA tournaments. VTD is very popular in north Texas, not so much in other parts of the country. Look up Impact Gold and Sudden Impact and see how many VTD sanctioned tournaments they have participated in.

You had 96's playing for your 14U team? Really, you should have come in 1st. Guess you will either be moving up to 16U then or looking for a mostly new team again. I would think that having all of those 96's qualifies those as a 3rd year 14U team.

A lot of the teams that finished in the top ten had a lot of 96's. The two that didn't have any 96 r 97 that finished in the top ten were Impact Gold and Firecrackers.

I believe Impact Gold is half 97's and half 98's and the Hawks are a straight 98 team and finished in the top 10. They were the 98 Mizuno last year.

Congratulations to SI 14U going undefeated all weekend, we are very proud of our young ladies. They showed a great deal of total teamwork in winning some hard fought battles. I’ve got to say this weekend was some of the best softball I have seen in a long time. We had a good pool game with Gametime 97. Close to the end. You guys have a great team good pitching, defense, and hit the ball very well. It was nice to get to meet some of yall and talk to you guys face to face. I am sure we will see you in the spring at the HOF and at nationals. We will be praying for a good outcome with your pitchers injury. Our game with Centex Buzz was a war. That team is special. They have some fantastic talent. That pitcher/catcher combo in my opinion was the best our kids have ever faced. This is not a team you want to run into early in the bracket, for sure. Where are they from Austin? Waco? JC’s Hawks played us very well I think this team is going to be in the mix every tourney. Good job ladies. Congrats to the Power for their finish. I saw them a little here and there and they won some big games. Impact 97- you guys are okay…. :o Just messing, our two games we had could have easily gone either way. You guys are a fantastic team all the way around.

Can somebody shed some light? I was told that the Tx Terminators were an all '98 team? That is the team that won the 12U division undefeated. I can believe they were, they were big kids and looked more mature than a regular 12u team. I am not complaining, they beat us 2-0 both unearned runs.... We actually welcome the competition. I am just curious as to their ages....THANKS..

I also heard the Terminators were an all '98 team. Why would a '98 team play in a 12u tournament? Can they really be proud of winning a 12u tournament such as RM?

They are a 98 team and they are solid. They have been playing 16u this fall and doing quite well. However, this isn't unprecedented. The Centex Buzz team which finished at the top last year was an (at least mostly) 97 team playing 12s in 2010.

We enjoyed playing them in the championship. We wish we would have won, but are extremely proud of our girls for battling like they did all day. No excuses, they had the best team that weekend in the 12U division and played that way. Credit where credit is due.

Yeah, they are a very good team!! Our team plays mostly 14's and has won a 16u tourney this fall. We competed with them only losing 2-0 and they had NO hits to the outfield. Both runs scored on walks, passed ball and a throwing error. I just dont understand y a team that good wouldnt play 14's??? Only reason I can see is to beb able to win a trophy and brag on winning the RM tourney....but what did you actually get out of that...for the girls??? Hell, I'd rather play great cometition in an older age bracket and get beat than to play down and win!!! Who does that??....lol
