St. Louis Showcase

by Bake » Fri Oct 28, 2011 11:33 am

Just curious as to what NWI teams are in St. Louis this weekend, since this is probably the best fall showcase tournament in the midwest, I remember during the tryout season all of the teams that promised their players top exposure, so I am wondering if any of those teams are true to their word?????

My bet is that not many teams from NWI are down in St. Louis this weekend!! That is one big reason players from our area leave to play for Illinois teams. I can't blame them!

Indiana teams listed on the tournament website:

Indiana Shockwaves - Kleinbub
Indy Crush - LW
Indiana Magic 93
Indy Crush - MW
Indiana Shockwaves - SO
Team Akadema
Indy Dreams
Indy Dreams - Gold
Indiana Shockwaves - Black
Michiana Mystique

You are right. I don't think I would classify any of those teams as NWI.

I think the best showcase this weekend is the Demarini Showcase just outside of St. Louis(O'Fallon, IL) Lots of California, Arizona, and Texas teams that finished high at PGF nationals in Huntington Beach, CA this last August.

No offense to the teams you mentioned from Indiana, all are good, but just a few listed could compete at the Demarini Fall Showcase. Just my opinion of course.

There are several teams that are average at best there also.

We played in O'Fallon, the beer tasted about the same as it has all fall, though the ice lasted a bit longer.

prdpop, this might surprise you, but I don't do so well around people, it's best that I skip the crowed bar scene.

I think there were several going back and forth. We had great attendance at most of our games, I thought it was a good showcase. I think most of the coaches were there to see the teams we were playing, but it made us feel good none the less.

There weren't any teams from NWI in St. Louis. - Can't think of any in recent years that have been there. A lot of girls from NWI that want true college exposure go into the Chicago Metro area to play. College exposure in NWI just isn't the same. Why is that?

St Louis was good. Lots of college coaches watching every game. It was great to see.
