...and no, my DD has never played for free.

Precisely. My DD has never played for free either, but has been offered this. I had to refuse the offer on her behalf, though, because I didn't want her playing TB when she was just 7yo.

Why not?

I didn't tell the whole truth in my last response. What really happened is that they would not include unlimited pole barn use in the contract, so that was a deal-breaker for us.

I'm with you there....I remember turning down a free 1B spot on an 8U Gold team when my DD was 7 because she was the only kid in the county that could catch throws to first base on a semi-reguar basis..!! In retrospect, probaly should have played up at 10U Premier that year... :P

I guess I should admit that my DD has played for free but it was for the last half of the summer. It's a long story.....

DD has played for free and has been on teams where others played for free. It never was an issue that I know of and certainly wasn't for us. If the coach thought pulling a player for free is what the team needed at the time, then so be it.

The only time it would've been an issue is if we were charged more than agreed on. At that point, I would have asked for an explanation.
