This weekend in DFW

TX Maverick

I actually made my way to GP Saturday and let me tell you Firecrackers are the real deal and so are the Bombers and BB for first year 14U's. Fireballs still need some work(please tuck your jersey's in). Glory '99 are one of the top '99's in the area, their pitcher was dealing. She gave up hits and loaded some bases against FC but did not give up the big hit. They need another top pitcher to compete in a big tourney. FC has 2 stud pitchers and a third that is pretty good. They gave up I believe 1 hit to Glory '99 which determined the game which followed an error. I think that player was a pick up player cause she was wearing different pants. Bleachers were crowded with other teams and some coaches standing around at every FC game. Great softball and they were only pool games. Which was funny to see Glory's coach killing time. Lol!

BB need a second big time pitcher to do good in the qualifiers but are a very good team.

Bombers have a ton of pitching and still improving as a team.

Glory '99 are good to beat any of the teams mentioned above but cannot go back to back against these big '98's.

I just talked to a buddy of mine from the Bombers and he tells me they are having a friendly next Sunday. Teams entered Glory(Allen), BB(Rhine), FC(Rosales), ETX Bombers, Elite '98 and I believe they are trying to get one more. This is going to be outstanding softball. Too bad I can't make this one as DD will be at Plano Showcase.

TX M Firecrackers actually were 3-1 as they played 3 games back to back in the am.

Lets Play Two,

I would have to agree on your assessment of the Firecrackers. With what looks to be a roster of 13 on Saturday they are deep in talent. I was one of those in the stands watching. lol The two games I watched, the 2 starting pitchers are SOLID! Would say the best 1-2 punch in DFW. With the defense & bats to back them up they are in the drivers seat to continue to be the ones to beat in N. Texas.

BB Rhine has his core group who are as solid as it gets. Again, they need a #2 to help her and the team to go deep in tourneys. Well coached and will continue to be a top 5 98 team in DFW.

Fireballs are a good squad. Like BB, they need pitching to help out the lefty starter. Bats have been inconsistent in past when I've seen them. Un-tucked shirts is an epidemic in this area for sure.

ETX Bombers now thats the team that I believe to be the top contender for the fall and spring. Really good 1-2 starting pitching with girls who can hit the long ball.

99 Glory is prob the top 99 team. Was fun watching them play the Firecrackers. Although it was only a pool game they came out on top. Good win for them.

Where is this friendly going to be at, would love to watch those games??

Who from last years top 14U eligible players are the Bombers pitching comparable?
Impulse? Adkins Turkoly? 97 Glory? Adkins Travers?
Who did these kids pitch for this past summer?

So did Glory Adkins Allen pull out of Plano then?

I agree with all of that. Ronald McDonald will be the first (and only) test this fall for the younger teams.

Not really. Looks like only 5 teams from DFW are even playing Ronald McDonald.

Batbusters Spuria
Firecrackers
Elite (Strawn)
Glory (Kyser)
Adkins (Allen)

Far as I know, none of these are "younger" teams despite some of them being called 98... at one time or another.

Ok how about Southlake in a few weeks then. Looks like except for the Firecrackers and Adkins Allen, all of the teams talked about on here will be playing.

Justa,

I'm not going to go there. I'll I'm going to say is that M from Turkoly's last year is ahead of all 98's at this time of there career. She's the best '97 we have faced. FC 98's pitchers are probably the one's closest to the above you mentioned. I'm out!

I apologize, I was really trying to avoid referencing any particular pitchers and just offered those teams as suggestions. The answer could have been any team. I know there isn't a 98 team within 100 miles of here that has a pitcher even close to the aces or even #2s of those teams. My intent was not to get anyone to "go there." Do you know where those kids pitched last summer?

Ceelo,

My buddy didn't want to give me the info but he finally caved in.

Too bad I can't make this one. Somebody needs to provide the results. Good ball to go watch. Hopefully these friendly's continue and are done in the lower age groups. It seems like the good teams avoid each other sometimes. It will help our softball here in the Metroplex improve.

Location: Bakersfield complex in Flower Mound Sunday, Oct 16th.

9:00am-Firecrackers/ETX Bombers
10:30am-Firecrackers/Elite '98 and Bombers/Glory Adkins(Allen)
12:00pm-Glory Adkins/Batbusters(Rhine)
1:30pm-Bombers/Elite
3:00pm-Glory Adkins/Firecrackers and BB/Elite
4:30pm-BB/Firecrackers

Can the TD update the scores by inning? Lol!

I'm sure this friendly will be lot's of fun.

Good luck! Y'all are doing the right thing playing each other.
