It just doesn't look good when there are 2 pages of bumps and only 25 views.

Hi, Arto... Before I post a response I must start out by apologizing to any and everyone I offened in my post's last week on the "Punishers break up" thread. My intended stay of absence was to be for 2 weeks for my totally unexcusable behavior, but, I guess you can say i've learned a valuable lesson from it!!! Sorry once again!!!
Sorry Spazsdad, but i'm going to have to prove you wrong for the first time...People can change for the better. You'll see.

Now, my thoughts are maybe all the teams are set but just looking for those 1 or 2 unexpected lingering top notch player to come out of the woodworks to seal the deal on that certain team???

Arto was watching a 12u bracket game where both teams were embarrassing themselves on the field. His comment to my daughter's parents was that the parents on both sides needed to chill. I took his advice to heart, but its still hard at times. I found that score keeping helped, as did watching from somewhere beyond the infield.

One only has to think of Ray Ray though to understand the dangers of being that parent online.

My teams were perennial "bumpers" and had tryouts every weekend to fill some spots or to even field a team. Not every team can draw 50 kids to tryouts like the Firecrackers, Batbusters, Athletics, etc. Not all of us can coach those "name" teams. Its part of the double edged sword....if you coach a "no-name" team you get full control, but nobody comes to your tryouts....if you coach a name team, you lose some control but you get lots of kids to choose from.

Instead of criticizing these guys, you should laude them. Without these guys, your teams would have to play the same teams every week. You would have nobody to get your #3 pitcher some innings against. You would have to struggle every week in pool play of tournaments. You would have no walkovers in bracket play. You would have no teams to steal their best players, who were likely developed by the guys at which you poke fun.

I think you should all give them a collective chest bump and a hearty thanks.

It just seems like the tryout posting process could be improved.
