Punishers '98 break-up

scout team wrote:One For The Road, a lengthy response to Bracketologist 12U PRE ASA POLL, dated August 12, included, in part, the following: "No idea what happend to Punishers and USA Athletics (at Nationals). Punishers were out quick and USA ran into the CA98 buzzsaw. They'll both need to regroup and add some additional parts as they enter 14U." It is ironic that you now share that these two teams are joining forces. Both teams definately had some very strong performers. Although neither did as well as expected at Nats, this merger should result in an extremely competitive team and I look forward to seeing them play. The same August 12 response also included a comment that the showing of CA98 at Nats could finally net them the elusive #1 pitcher that onthejuice and softbal234 have been pursuing for the past year. Sounds like softbal 1234 has confirmed that to be true. Come on Peg, who'd you snag?

Should be a fun season! Younger 14U teams are probably going to get beat down for awhile from their elder sisters, but I expect the stronger first year 14U teams will be very competitive by the Turkey Tourneys. See you all on the field.

SCOUT TEAM THIS IS TRUE I THINK HALF OF THE PUNISHERS AND HALF OF USA WOULD BE A PRETTY GOOD TEAM. BUT MY SOURCES TELL ME THAT THE USA HALF OF THE TEAM MAY NOT BE FOR THIS MERGER AND MAYBE LOOKING TO DO THERE OWN THING.1234 WHAT ARE YOU HEARING OUT THERE ABOUT THE 98 TEAMS :P

So far our BIGGEST acquisition has been the #1 ACE from the Breakers!!! :D Don't assume we recruited her either, she wanted a good supporting cast with BIG BATS to back up her AWSOME pitching.
Along with a couple other top notch pitcher's we are looking at, we will definitely be in contention for a national title this season!!! ;) Just sayin!!!
BUMPITY BUMP!!! :D

1234, your CA98 players certainly opened a few eyes and proved quite a few naysayers wrong with their strong showing at Nats, so congrats on the Breaker pitcher acquisition. You earned that one. She's certainly a stud and will only make your team stronger. I must agree that your team does have some big bats, however, the combination of pitching and hitting puts a BIG target on your back. Expectations for CA98 will be much higher this year and any slip will be magnified. You talk the talk, will the players walk the walk? To compete with Top 10 14U (combined '97 & '98) teams this year, CA98 will need to be a lot more consistent week in and week out and you may need a few more players. I know Big Sister CA97 Lockman is still the big dawg in town, but good luck to you!

Thanks for the vote of confidence scout team, always appreciated... Sounds like Lockman needs to find a new #1 also with his moving to 16's this season, but i'm sure he and we will be just fine! ;)

There was indeed a breakup of the 2 teams (USA 98 & PUNISHERS) but word is , the right mix of girls are not together. Will be an interesting fall for both teams.

Congratulations CA on acquiring your #1 pitcher she’s also a good first basemen she should help your slow corner. :) I heard that some of the Punishers and USA players are still looking for a team both have solid infielders. Maybe you can pickup one or two before someone else does.
Ready for another fun year Wendy :?:

Man o Man... I have been out of town for a week or so and I have missed all of this fun.

CA98 will be a great team this year and the addition of that pitcher will be a huge help. I think she will help with the overall consistency of the team.

Interesting to hear about Punishers and USA... it looks like Berouty is no longer in control and I wonder Dan will remain in control of the Punishers. Both had great talent last season but could not put it together when it matters.

Good Luck to all!!! I cant wait to see what new teams jump onto the radar this season.
