Too Many Teams - Need Help

by getagrip » Wed Aug 17, 2011 2:47 pm

We are new to Southern California (from Florida) and would like to find a good travel team for our daughter. There are so many teams here and so many tryouts listed that it is overwhelming. Our daughter is a middle infielder with a decent bat and are looking for a 14U team with experienced coaching. I live near the Rancho Bernardo area. Could someone make some recommendations of teams with experienced high level coaching anywhere in or near San Diego? We do not like to team hop. She was with her last team for 3 years and would like to find a team where she can stay through high school. The move has been tough on her and she really loves softball.

Thank you,
Kaitlen

too many teams, too many cars, too much smog, too many homeless people...like Dr Pepper said, welcome to SoCal!
By the way, families around here don't limit their choice of teams to any geographical locations...there are some that have 2-4 hr commutes to their teams.

but, in your area, from what I know, Jerry from TNL, and Scott from Power Surge come to mind.
They are the heads of their organizations, and most likely aren't the actual coach for their 14u teams, but they know what they are doing and would be a good place to start.
Deserve's got nothin' to do with it.

I agree with Power Surge and Scott, but he does not coach the 14u as you said. Good Luck and enjoy SD.

What Arto said. Plus, San Diego Renegades and So Cal Breakers are two decent sized organizations down in your neck of the woods.

TNL's practices are at Rancho Bernardo High School and Rancho Bernardo Community Park. And their 14u Gold team won the ASA SoCal State Championship... and 16u won ASA National Championship.

They should be worth a look for you.
