Regardless, the question still remains, does KC get to pick his team first or will the talent be evenly distributed.

KC needed only 2 or 3 players, which have already been identified! Larry is going to evaluate the kids currently on his team and make adjustments!

So why post for a tryout then? If the teams have already been identified. I don't think there is a hard fast rule that says you have to have a tryout. Seems like you are wasting some people's time.

I didn't say all the teams had their kids identified! I did not say the kids KC have identified have accepted! Kids that do not make the gold teams may have an option to play on the 16U team, if age permits! 16U is the place to be for kids to be recruited! Your major colleges recruit from the 16U age group!

We weren't talking about 16U, we were talking about the Gold teams, if a player wanted to play 16U they would go to the 16U tryout. I didn't see mention of the 16U tryout in the post.

You said KC only needed 2 or 3 players, yet on a roster of 17 he had 7 seniors. That would lead me to believe that he has already got commitmments from 3 or 4 players, prior to the tryout, to get to only needing 2 or 3 that had already been "identified".

But the point is, the turnout won't be as good if you posted the tryout was just for the Impact's 2nd team. Fair enough, other organizations, with two teams, do the same thing. Just don't insult me with the line about players not yet accepting and it actually being a tryout for KC's team. Thank you for clarifying that it is clearly an A team and a B team setup.

How does KC know what he needed, he has not been around all year. Even if he has kept up with his team to know what is needed how did he identify which new players he wanted. There is no way he was able to miss a whole year and and keep up with the talent from other teams.

It may be that Spring Klien requires the Impact to have one open tryout per year. I would not assume that all of the spots have been taken or that there is no need to come to the tryout. They have 10 or so returning players. A couple of years ago, when they had 2 gold teams, they had about 30 kids in the program. So they are probably looking for roughly 20 players.

A couple of years ago when they had two gold teams, if memory serves, they spent the fall mixing and matching and playing kids on both teams. Then in the spring when they divided up into A and B, there was some fall out because some kids selected for the B team thought they should be on the A team etc. When the dust settled, I think they had about 22 kids and some kids played on both teams.

It's not a A team, B team! It's a premier team and a ASA team! Totally different!

Hard to imagine Durham would accept a "B" team based on his past success. Why would he drop the Storm organization to do that?

Oh and imo, while daddy ball is alive and well on the 16U team, it would be impossible to pull off on the gold team.
