TOP 16u teams in DFW TOP in STATE

by AE27 » Fri Aug 05, 2011 10:58 pm

This was a really good run tournament. My hat goes off to all involved with making it happen.

What I was most surprised at was the amount of teams in 16U that has 2012 and 2013's on them. They are very mature and definately are stronger than 2014 and 2015's. Our team played very well against the Tennessee Fury "94" but lost 1 - 0. I am sure they will be around on Sunday as well as the Ohio Lazers who were an awesome team. They lost their first bracket game but have battled back to have that oh so awesome chance to play and win five games on Saturday to make it to that eight am game Sunday morning.

Good luck to both teams as well as the other 30 still in it. It was fun, the fields were awesome and they even had onions for the hotdogs.

Thanks Kelli for a good run.

Yours truly,
Mark

PS: Sneaky Cleats, I hope you win it all!!
Your coach is one of the best from what I have seen.

So you're saying that the remainder of the roster was not good enough to step in and get the job done if/when "key players" get injured? Why did they sign those kids then?

Winners Bracket:

Losers Bracket:

TX BLAZE WHITE out
TX BOMBERS WHITE still in it

TX ACES EXPRESS out
TX BLAZE LINDSAY out
TX ALS KRUZERS out
TX STORM ELITE out
TX AUSTIN STORM out
TX ELITE SWANNER out
TX ELITE BANCROFT out
TX GLORY POOLE out
TX STARZ out
TX SUDDEN IMPACT out
HOUSTON POWER out
SNEAKY CLEATS SPRINGER still in it
DBAT CHAMBERS out

Well the good news is we still have two teams fighting to make it to Sunday. The bad news is they are playing each other. Only one can go through. My hat is off to Sneaky Cleats for winning 8 in a row in the loser's bracket. 13 teams left in it. Looks like we will have one Texas top ten finish. Go Bombers. Go Cleats. Anyone care to make a prediction on who will win it all?

My pick: Southern Force

Congrats to Texas Glory (Naudin) as they have advanced to the Premier National Championship game! Bring home the title to North Texas!

Wow,

Thanks for the link. Great game. Way to go Glory Naudin. Glory lost 5-0 but had a chance in the last inning with the bases loaded.

Given Glory Naudin's performance this week, I think it is fair to say they are the best team in DFW and also in the state. At least this weekend.

Congrats to the Aces for making it as far as they did. I thought at first that yall was going to make it deep in the winners bracket. You got off to a great start. I feel you definitely didn't finish to yall's potential. You guys have a great team and I was rooting for you.

It sucks that 2 Texas teams had to play each other to send one to the loser bracket and then 2 Texas teams had to play each other to send one home. Especially being that deep in the brackets but that's the way it goes. It's not like we are going to stomp off and start our own sanction or anything. :D

ASA did a great job and although I read something about a heat problem, I didn't see or hear anything about heat being a problem. It was cloudy on and off since Wed. I think ASA had the best competition, at least for 16s, if you look at the HOF in OKC and where Glory finished in PGF and where OK Force finished in ASA but then again anything could have happened I guess. I know it's hard to judge by that but I do know both were very good.

On a side note...congrats to the 14u Glory at PGF. Texas was definitely represented well in all nationals. Great job girls. GO TEXAS!!
