Basically, instead of printing with ink it prints a liquid in layers that mimics whatever it is recreating. The liquid combines with a powder to form a very tough plastic-like material that quickly hardens.

Jay Leno did a bit awhile back about the technology when he was replicating a piece for one of his cars. It was some broken bracket or other that is not available so he had one "printed"...

Very cool stuff !

I took an original demarini phenix to kinkos to have one made but they didn't have the correct printer :)

Posted it in classified ads here on HB for $250 and not one reply??? Oh well, guess they thought that was too much, but seen them for up to $500 and sold...??? PM me if your are seriously interested and it's yours! ;)
