Mizuno Impulse / Addidas Futures

by HokieDokie » Fri Jul 15, 2011 7:34 pm

Things sure have been quiet from the Mizuno Impulse fans/parents. They have lost almost all of their 16U team (one reason being constant cursing and verbal abuse-wow) parents have had enough (heard it from more than one parent), AND they have 10 players left on the Gold team?

Apparantly they screwed players out of going to Chicago, taking those whose parents suck up the best (I mean the best players out of two teams) then lost games by a margin of like 24-2? Are these the TOP players they took from other organizations like Freedom, or did they leave them home? Isn't this a selective tournament, top teams? Surely that wasn't Gwyn's best attempt at coaching the top talent from two different teams ;) Looking bad in front of college coaches doesn't sound like THE BEST way to get recruited. Sounds more like a way to run off colleges. DUH

And did they really take committed players to a showcase, using spots for the non committed players. No wonder people are leaving, or on the way out. Plus, with the A&M recruit headed to Glory after the summer..and another committed player that has already left to find better coaching..among others - future doesn't look good. Why would they leave such a well coached team/organization? I am hearing that Gwynny Poo is getting caught in lies, going back on promises, and asking 7th graders to join his GOLD team - for exposure.

I sincerely hope the players ARE getting what they need out of this mess, and Gwynny people are finally starting to figure you out I see..You can try to play the Glory game, but you don't have the chops to hang with us Big Boyzzz. I think it might be a record to lose that many players that quickly in a season.

Anyone care to comment, dispute, set me straight?

Hmmm, where to start! And I promised my wife I was going to be a "new" man this year! But I know she won't mind!
First off, virtually the whole 16u team has left? Crap, we better get the money back and cancel premier ASAP. Quite a few are in Chicago right now, and some of the rest will be in Plano next weekend. So to my knowledge, none have left YET! As far as gold is concerned, we had 10 players with us in CO. Two out with injury, and one quit after the Dallas qualifier, before colorado. The one who quit felt like they were not getting enough PT in THEIR position, batting in the position THEY wanted. Understand it, but it was not anything to do with PT overall, cause there was plenty of that! Now, this player is already committed, so they have to do what they feel is right! I personally think the logic is flawed, and would tell the parent the same to their face, so those things happen.
Second off, who got screwed out of going to Chicago? I mean specifically! The organization chose what THEY felt to be the best players that COULD and WANTED to go. Unfortunately, some people look at their kids talent level, or performance level through rose colored glasses. Suck up parents huh? So they put sub standard talent on the field cause some suck up! REALLY! Sounds like you are looking for an excuse as why your kid didnt get to go! Surely it's not because they haven't performed to that level yet! You know it's funny to see the typical pre-national bs starting up again, as it makes for some funny reading. But when you have players used to performing at the highest levels of 12u and 14u moving up to 16u and Gold, its an adjustment period. Everyone has caught up to them or passed them both physically or mentally, so you have to adjust, change, or just flat out work harder. At 10u and 12u, my daughter was an awesome pitcher and ss, at 14u she was avg. at pitcher, and above avg. at ss. By 16u, she was just avg. at ss, and no longer pitching except for hs ball, but she worked her ass off to be a good of. Next, my wife is sharing a room in chicago with the parent of the player you say is leaving for glory at the end of the summer....you know the one you put out there by saying she was the A&M commit? Now, I consider them to be good friends(I think they'll claim me publicly), and I can guarantee that you that you are not speaking for them! Now if they like everybody, decides to evaluate where they are at the end of the season, then so be it! But, that wouldn't make a lot of sense either as I would dance with the one who helped you in attaining the scholarship(If asked my opinion, I'll relay that as well to the parents). And I will say that so far, we are laying a big, fat turd in Chicago! We can't seem to hit all of a sudden(incl. my daughter who may not be hitting her weight in batting average, and she is short) that also seems to be carrying over to other aspects of play. Hopefully it will be like our gold performance in CO, where we did cruddy in pool, but spanked it in the Silver bracket and won.
Lastly, I know its a long post, but I ramble on when some dumba** comes on a posting board spouting a bunch of crap about a lot of stuff they know little about, I think they don't know anyway, as they don't have the cajones to say it without hiding(although I think in this case, it should read doesn't have the ovaries to say it without hiding). I suspect your ovaries got bruised when Suzie HS Stud didn't get picked to go! I understand, but move on, and work harder! I've seen 16u perform both in practices, and in CO and they will be fine! Some of their players need to adjust to the higher level, but its all good! I would love to talk to you in person if you want, as I don't view my daughter through rose-colored glasses, and certainly don't live my athletic dreams or failures thereof, through her! Also, if you are with Glory aka Big Boyzz as you imply, I would think that ya'll would be happy to hear of any problems real or perceived! However, I seriously doubt that as All of the Glory teams have or are currently playing "showcase" tourneys with committed players. We only have one in chicago, and had three in colorado. I have friends on both sides of the glory groups, and know personally of multiple committeds playing in "showcases". If you are already qualified, its the only way to get in games, unless you have scrimmages and that isn't the same! Adidas is the only one that requires it to be uncommitted players. Honcho Out! Finally! :ugeek:

Don't forget. The Gold team was the champion of the 3 seeds... bahaha.. Come on, I would not even be some what excited about playing in the Sparkler, well maybe in 12U or 14U. Also didn't the Sparler all-stars get spanked in the Sparkler vs. Fireworks all star game?

Yep, you are sooo right I must have glossed over that part in my post where I said we played crappy in our pool, then whipped it in the SILVER bracket! Wasn't tooting a horn, just stating that we did in the silver bracket what we were SUPPOSED to do! We sometimes play up to our level of competition, conversely we play down sometimes as well. But I guess I should take this more seriously....I mean really paying to play in an all-star game, and them playing each other is a good measuring stick? Really? I prefer to go head to head, and take my chances. We actually played some close games against some good teams, and also got spanked by some in chicago. But at least we were playing, not sitting around wondering why college coaches aren't beating a path to our door when we are playing in irving! Honcho :ugeek:

Could you repeat that, but this time make some valid points in a clear concise manner that makes sense? Those of us not drinking the Kool-aid don't speak ramble. A few minor corrections in a post (like you scoring 9 instead of 2 runs in a tourney) do nothing to take away from the bigger issue.

You can try to hide what's going on with your team n organization but you know I am more right than you want to admit. You won't be able to hide it for long. Also, I heard that a&m wants this player to play on a better coached team...now THAT my dear honch is sad.

Gwynnies lies and lack of coaching ability are showing...as people are figuring out he will tell you anything to get you to join the team, his lack of integrity will be crystal clear. Can't wait to see what happens this fall and next summer, I will make sure to walk by and flash you a great big smile if your still playing on Sundays...

BTW - Don't forget to put those rose colored glasses back on before responding, you may think you aren't wearing them....but when you never take them off, it's easy to forget you have them on. It's ok-its not your fault.

Didn't your kid take part in the all star game...you paid to be part of an all star game, is that correct? Now THAT is funny!

You apparently didn't get the notice on the first rule of going public on a coach/team bashing...

The rule goes something like this...

When you feel the need to blast away into someone else's business, you've dropped your trousers and exposed the real issue...

Your sorry ass didn't make the team, so now it's time to slash and burn.

Here's one from the archive for you...

Hokie,

The first part of your screen name is appropriate! As far as the all-star game is concerned, yes my daughter played in the all-star game in CHICAGO! She was nominated(I'm assuming by her coaches) and CHOSEN to play. No pay was involved! If you would like, I would be more than happy to open my personal finances to you to show you!

Next point!(please give me credit for trying to be as concise, organized, grammatically correct as possible. I am not as educated as you apparently, but I DO know how to spell Adidas) I don't agree with everything Jason does, and I also feel free to express it. At the appropriate time, not in the stands, not in the car in front of my kid, etc. My kid got benched in Chicago, gets her ass rode by Jason, sometimes by Alex, etc. Guess What? I don't have an issue with it! Put your damn big girl panties on and deal with it. These girls are gonna be women soon, and they better be ready for life! Cussing occasionally, don't really care for it, but I understand it sometimes. I have four kids, including two teen daughters and I know they make me want to cuss quite often. Hell they know more words than I, they get inundated at school, tv, radio, etc.

At the end of the day, if you get what your looking for, stay. If not, find someone else. The grass is not always greener. Also, be ready to take a hard look in the mirror to evaluate whether this is for you or your kid!

BTW, since you or your "source" seem to be confidants of Coach Evans, so much so that she reveals that kind of info to you guys. Please tell her I would really like them to recruit my kid! Coach Jason and Coach Alex haven't been able to get that done. Honcho Out! :ugeek:
