The good old boys from surf city should come over to champions cup and learn how a real tournament/exposure is run........fields groomed/games on time and scores posted....wow

Like any event there is good and bad. At C Cup I have seen fields go 4 or 5 games with no prep, online scores and fields posted incorrectly (is any score better than no score?), and when you spread out 1:30 games to every 2 hours it it easy to be on time but that event also takes 5 days to complete.

Which location? Tell the organizers because Irvine is charging them for park personnel to prep the fields every 2-3 games.

That's a bad thing? I thinks it's nice knowing the 800p game will probably start around 800p, for the teams and the coaches. What would you suggest? 1:15 drop-dead (w/ revert) with 90 minutes between games?

I was out at Irvine Cup this week and found that fields were in great shape, maintained properly between games and all started on time. Really well run in my opinion.

We played last week ,great fields .The Bollinger's do a great job.Lots of colleges looking for 2103 and 2014 grads.Between the Fireworks then Champions Cup,lot of bang for your buck.
ASA rep on site helping with registration,we were looking for pick up players and they were able to help.Found a lot of PGF teams have added players to teams. So some kids left teams and found they were not ASA registered, parents thought they were, can't pick them up for ASA nationals.
Should be great softball in bracket play.

Surf City is a joke this weekend. Very few scouts and the fields are terrible. Friday and Saturday never seen one field dragged or chalked. The umpires all said they were lost and nothing was told to them about this being a tourney. I have had pretty good experiences with Surf City the last few years but this is the worst. Several girls took grounders to the face due to bad hops, pitchers mounds were not touched all day and almost impossible to pitch off of. Umpires have been pretty good and the competition has been good, but the fields are terrible. I would really be pissed if I was a team that traveled half way accross the country. Not right for them.
