There was a incident a few years back when a coach wanted to see a player and TB coaches bunted her when she got up to bat. The College coach blew up and yelled at the TB coaches "I did not fly out here from ------ to watch this kid bunt"

Hey Spazsdad......The other thing College Coaches don't want to see is TB coaches getting thrown out when their DD stikes out on a bad call... in a lopsided game you are winning.

The last I checked bunting is a key part to softball... One sac bunt early in a scoreless game against a very good team is ok!! So don't send memos out to 16U coaches. Who already know how to coach the game!

I know some GOLD Coaches that don't know how to coach. Heck, I know College coaches that don't know how to coach as well.

From the kids standpoint, you cant control the sign that is given, so if asked to lay one down, lay it down.

Now, a kid can control their approach at the plate. My kid I hope is not changing her approach just because behind the backstop its lined with coachs.

How about telling your DD to swing away in a showcase regardless of what the coach calls??

Is this acceptable for a 16u or 18u player?

Were playing CC 18G and our team bunts 4X in a row. I storm off to another field because I just can't understand the point of bunting in a showcase. I'm at the other field telling people I know why I was over at their game and why. They can't understand this thought process either. I finally go back to our game and we are still bunting. I look over and their sits a High Profile College Coach, I lean over to the coach and ask "Do you want to come out here and watch these kids bunt", and she replies "No we don't want to see these kids bunt".

We bunted in every pool play game we were in, Unbelievable!!!
