Lookin for a good batting coach

by Crusher » Mon Jul 11, 2011 6:57 am

Who are some of the top batting coaches in the in DFW area that actually get results? Not looking for someone with a stale resume….I don’t care what they did 10 or 20 years ago, if they are not getting current day results. Trying to find someone that is relevant, actually has ‘skins’ and has a good ability to make the player ‘get it’, and see immediate results…a break it down person! I am :o tired of paying $$$$ for 30 min of soft toss. :o

My daughter has been going to Slade Maloney in Irving for the past 2 years. He has changed her attitude about hitting and given her the confidence at the plate all hitters need. His phone number is 214-783-5054. Now she would not change if you payed her to. lol

I am certain you know this...

If you are hoping to get results with 30 mins of soft toss...you are wasting your time. That is the bare minimum...if your dd does not practice outside of the time spent with the hitting coach don't blame him / her for lack of results.

Joe…I was being a little facetious. The lessons are 1hr, long weekly, but half of it is soft toss and the other half is a combo of talking (B.S.) and hitting off of the tee. My dd get’s plenty of cage time and has a decent batting average. I just want to get her to the next level and find someone that really know what they are doing to make the minor adjustments to get the ball into the green more often. Someone that is proficient in teaching left and right hitting and slap. I just want her to progress and this is not happening right now. :?

If I ever write a detective novel, the main characters name will be Slade Maloney! Great name!

Keith Allen (98 TX Glory Adkins)

Teaches positive reinforcement while he guides each student through the keys to becoming a better hitter to perform consistently well.
Our daughter went from being a below average hitter to the top hitter on her Select Team within six months!

Manny Meza
562-301-6462
darthnuno52@aol.com

Teaches the majority of the Texas Fusion '98 team. Team batting average .402. My daughter is hitting .395 currently. He has 3 girls on that '98 team that have hit homeruns, one that has 13 career homeruns. All the while playing against very tough competition.

Manny hit .375 while playing four years of pro ball for the California Angels. He played his high school ball and college ball in Southern California.

You will see a difference after one lesson. He does not teach slapping. But if you want a high batting average with power he is the hitting instructor you are looking for.

Just like Joe and taking2 mentioned you have to put the time in away from those lessons. Live pitching is the key. Lessons and live pitching go hand in hand.

Slade, Stephanie, Keith and I'm sure there is a lot more here in the metroplex that are good as well. You just need to find the right fit for your daughter.

Good luck!

Alli Kennewell at HRA is very good.
None of them will help you if you dont do your work outside of practice and lessons. Hitting requires confidence, mechanics and timing. Those things only come from a solid work ethic and desire to improve.
