Indiana Magic Gold and Wichita Mustangs received the berths in the Gold Northern Territory Qualifier last weekend.

Indy Crush received the bid for the ASA/USA Nationals in Normal. Dreams-Lewis didn't want the bid, so they forfeited the championship to the Crush. Both teams were in the winner's bracket on Sunday morning; Crush lost and was coming up through the loser's bracket. They beat the Gators team that put them there to get to the championship game. I think it was all handled very well. The Dreams didn't just refuse to play and went home. There was a discussion between the coaches and the TD. The players on both teams were polled. I know a few Crush parents would have liked to have seen at least one game played because it was the Dreams. But no matter what the outcome of any game played, the Dreams still didn't want the bid. Personally, we had two straight days of getting up at 4 am to get to Pendleton by 7, so getting home early on Sunday with the bid and the hardware sounded like a good deal to me.

The 3rd base player for the Dreams broke her foot or ankle sliding into home in the previous game. Man, I really felt for her after what I've been through for the past 4 1/2 months!

The Crush forfeited the final game to the Dreams not vice versa as you stated. We were prepared to play and wanted to play the game as we had 4 or 5 friends, high school coaches, family members etc that drove to Pendleton to watch the game that wasn't played, but when Lorenzo and I spoke he said he didn't want to risk injury and since we were not going to nationals and he got the bid it was time to call it a weekend. Not what I wanted, but agreed and we took the state champion hardware home. The large state champions trophy will go to a young lady that has a very unfortunate injury to battle thru and knowing the kind of kid she is will be back on the field as soon as humanly possible. We spoke a couple times last night and she has an appointment with an orthopedic specialist today. I ask all of you to keep her in your prayers for a quick and speedy recovery so she can begin a Division 1 softball career on time this fall. Thanks to the ASA for a well run event and to the staff at Pendleton for having the diamonds ready to go on time Sunday morning with the rain from Saturday night. A job well done!

I guess I got the wrong info second hand from some parents. Thanks for clearing that up, and thanks for agreeing not to play and I still feel it was a good decision. After seeing your player's injury it really did hit home for me. Apparently she didn't break any bones or she would have been in surgery that night. I hope she has a speedy recovery.

Congratulations to the Indy Edge on the 16U State Championship. They gave Team Indiana - Rayman 2 great games. Class team and very deserving. Congratulations to Crystal and the ASA team for getting ALL the games in - even though the championship went into Monday. Hope that Mr. Ramsey and his Shockwaves are also satisfied and now realize that Team Indiana deserved their berth from the week before.

Mike Ramsey appreciates that TI is a wonderful team. Well coached and great players. In a game to be about the girls it always amazes me as to how adults love to speak of things they don't know about. I appreciate and enjoy playing great teams who sport great sportsmanship...hopefully all of my teams in both the best and worst of times do so. I was unable to attend games until Sunday in Plainfield and upon my arrival was told by one of my fellow coaches that he actually thought TI was the best team at the tournament. From playing them the following weekend in Bloomington I certainly agree they are very talented. I don't like people who have nothing better to do than stir up dirt and I find it so much more fun when you let everyone know who says it!!! Nexgt time you take a swipe don't hide!!
