I watched them play for a couple innings during the Winners Bracket championship game against the Sting and I would say that they looked as good as any team my DD's team played in the spring...maybe better. That includes FC Sota, OCBB Stith, OCBB McNee, etc. One big asterisk...McNee and Stith were without their '96's when they played and Sota is an outstanding but all (or almost all) '97 team.

It should be interesting to see how it plays out.

Wow good to hear....I did hear that they do lack a power arm like you mention the others were without.....It truelly is amazing how much of an impact one power pitcher can give.......and how is it that they won the State tourney...yet they lost to Lockman in the final game.....and does anyone know who the coaches were....I herd they changed some things around on that team and had some kid out there????.....

I am excited to see how this weekends premier tourney goes..!!

I'm not totally following your post...when did I say anything about a power arm?

Did they actually play Lockman more than once? I know they beat them in pool play but I had heard that CA-Lockman was the Losers bracket winner and TNL was the Winners Bracket champ.

I don't know much about their coaches, but I think they have a younger (in her early 20's maybe) assistant coach.

My mistake I was reading another page and got mixed up....sorry about that....and yes....TNL won the first time 3 to 9.......and lost in the championship 3 to 5....but for some reason there was not a "What If Game".....I just herd they split the Title not too long ago!!

oh and I just spoke to one of the asst. coaches from the CA Angels said that they had two base coaches that were young....one who used to play college baseball and the other who played college softball.....a lot of movement and small ball....!!!

No problem...and thanks for the info and the response.

I expect these two will see each other again...but not in ASA but at Premier. Should be fun...

So, how many teams passed on their ASA berths? And who did they fall to? Also has ASA posted an order of finish anywhere?

I was wondering the same thing.

There's a completed bracket on the SoCal ASA site.

Big weekend for 14u. Should go a long way in determining who goes to Premier, who goes to Midland, and who contemplates what other options they may have.

I am going to predict Victory USA 97, Irvine Sting, TNL, Corona Angels, Batbusters SM and Lights Out get Premier berths.

I will probably be wrong on half of these, but either way it leaves a bunch of very good teams without berths to ASA or Premiere (Bracky's #7, #8, #16, #17, #18, #19, #20).

Sounds like the DAGRIZZ101 is looking to make a team change. If they did not have a "THROWER" they would have not won (CO-CHAMPS) states. No one throws like CA pitcher, best in 14's.

They have an old guy that runs the team. The young ones must go out when the old guy needs a break.

I was told that the only teams that have decided not to continue with ASA are:

1 San Diego Power Surge '97
2 Firecrackers
3 HB Breeze
4 So Bay Dynasty
5 So Cal Pumas
6 USA Athletics '97-Miskimen
7 OC Fierce
8 OC Dynasty-Spathias
9 Easton Elite
10 Artesia Punishers-Griffiths
11 So Cal Dynasty-Luna
12 Irvine Sting '97
13 VC Venom '97
14 San Diego Breakers
15 Team Boombah '97
16 Primetime Elite
17 Cats FSC '97
18 Calif. Mirage Elite
19 Storm USA-Corona
20 Corona Express-14U

Looks to me like all the teams who were awarded a berth have not declined it.
