12U Spring/Summer Ranking

by Tenshun » Wed Jun 01, 2011 6:22 pm

Looks like my updated ranking has started modern day bucket warfare. Sounds like a lot of you think I got this one wrong. Let me think on it...

It's probably got a lot more to do with the condisending tone towards teams that are more interested in preparing for Nationals than following the pack then it does with your rankings.

No offense but being #1 on the Norcal list does not mean you'll be competitive at Nationals (not saying smash wont be just saying you better have other ways of measuing your ability) and for some teams a good finish at Nationals is what they spend all year striving for. If you want to measure your National ability you play teams that are bigger and better than you and then figure out what you need to do to beat them when it counts. Playing 14s gives you more opportunitys per tourny to play bigger, better teams, or you go to Socal.

To be ranked lower on the list for not playing in the same tournys as the rest is one thing but to be disrespected for not following the pack is pathetic and that is exactly what has been done to more than one good team.

Clearly the top 2 teams in the 12s are the Smash & Sorcerer 98, in no particular order but would probably have to give it to Smash right now based on head to head results. Everybody else is just fighting to be mentioned in the mix. #3 on down will flip flop as the season plays out but #1 & #2 will remain status quo, barring any major departures and/or injuries.

Really cause the way i see it Smash is a clear number 1....head to head they have beating them twice...one time in a 14s tournament....so i had to chuckle a little bit when i see that there is no particular order.....

A lot of good points in your reply missinit. I like it.

I also think that when you are doing a ranking (unbiased as tenshun and gametime 23 say they are  ) you got to be able to take a little criticisim on the rankings you post without taking it personal. Attacking and trying to belittle one team or another because someone disagreed with your post or your comments makes it look like you really shouldn't be doing a ranking. Got to be able to take a little criticisim without letting it get to your feelings.

Coachadub-Congrats on going 5-3 and making it to the Gold bracket Central Cal Intensity. Your girls played really well, very classy coaching and parents. You guys travel well. Would love to see you guys again. I hope you all made it back to B-Field safe and keep up the good work.

Would like to get your feelings if you think the top Nor Cal teams could play with top So Cal teams since you have played or scene both? I would say No, from what my experience has been playing So Cal teams in the past.

Blockster- Thanks for the (+) feedback coming from someone who’s been around bucket block.

NorCalBaller-I respect your input in regards to criticism and not taking it personal. You should know you are putting yourself out there when you post rankings. Thanks

I would like to congratulation NW grapettes for winning the 12u RR memorial tournament . This is a team that really impressed me early season playing in most 14u Tournaments and doing well, in doing so,I believe this helped prepare these young ladies for the loss of Ace pitcher. This team plays a solid defense and aggressive base running style. A Well coached team will find a way to win
Keep up the hard work NW grapes your back on the radar.
Good luck !!!!

TenShun…Keep up the good work. You seem to do your research and use facts in your rankings. You have set the standards and made bucket interesting for most of us.

Even though we have a different feelings when it some to Sorcerer98, Grapes SN, Hotshots98, Grapes RV and AASA all year long. We both like D Dogs and RR99 from jump.

I think HATERS will come out of the wood works when you don’t tell them how good there kids team, I forgot they don’t have a DD playing... RIGHT!!! Read prior post from some of these people you can clearly tell they are in the hate business and where there kid plays.

I don’t get how some of you don’t have a DD playing, but you know nor cal, know so cal, this team, that team, why they play here, don’t play there, playing for nationals…Get a job, clean the house, cut the grass or go make a baby, but you have no invested interest..Sure u don't.

And since when is going to RENO WS a run at nationals? Broke A-ball teams, B-Ball teams and a hand few of top 12's will play there. Many Top 12’s will play at nationals or westerns if I’m correct.

Any yes I have a kid that plays, and yes I’ve coached against most of these teams and yes we have friends on many of them. I'm tougher on my kid, her team by far and that’s due to being a jarhead with INTEGRITY.

DON’T HATE THE PLAYER....HATE THE GAME!!!!! GAMETIME23

So the only people that should be interested are the parents of current players?
You... are a moron!!!
So I suppose you watch no TV, football, baseball, golf or any other sport or TV show? Wheres your vested interest in that.
The current coach's that have no kids playing should quite?
Former coach's, players and parents should just go away?
SIT DOWN AND SHUT UP!!!!!
