HS playoff predictions?

by RexinTex » Thu May 26, 2011 9:41 pm

The Woodlands 5 Tomball 3. Great game by 2 great teams.

What I saw was the team with the speed, pitching and defense won the game. I was very impressed with the Woodlands team speed. It was their CATCHER that beat out a bunt single that turned out to be the game winning run.

This matchup is everything I thought it would be. My prediction is that the winner of this series will win state. VERY IMPRESSED WITH BOTH OF THEM! Too bad they both can't go to state!

The Woodlands better come out ready to play tomorrow or there will be a game 3!!!!

Yep, Good game Rex. Don't know about the rest of the Teams in the State. I thought Tomball's Coach could/shoulda question a call or 2. Is she always that passive? i.e. the punch out at 2nd base where Blue was on the opposite side of slide. Tomball gave them that game, mental errors. Should have been tied up, with xtra innings. Good Luck to both Teams, Good Ball Players on both sides!!

Pearland/Dobie game was a 13 or 14 inning pitcher's duel. 2-1 ball game with Pearland taking the first game. Defensive hiccups led to the runs. Very impressed with Dobie pitcher for keeping her composure during mishaps. Kudos for both pitchers for both going that long!

My feeling exactly. And yes, she is always that passive. Hard to believe a teams of Tomball's caliber not taking care of the ball with runners in scoring position, twice

Tomball chased McDuffie in the 3rd with 6 runs. Up 9-2 in the bottom of the 7th, The Woodlands rallied to get within 1 but fell short. Tomball wins 9-8, made the game look closer than it was.

The duel in the dust continues tomorrow in Magnolia...

tomball got rocked for 6 runs in the 7th....woodlands got rocked for 6 runs in the 3rd....other than that the score was 3-2...that's pretty damn close....any closer and they would still be playing.....my prediction is that the winner tonight wins state championship with relative ease....

GREAT game last night!

Except for some imbecilic ass from Tomball who was verbally abusing and taunting Paige McDuffee when she was warming up before the game--how SMALL, LITTLE and low down must a grown man's self esteem and self image be that he has to publicly, loudly, and repeatedly abuse and insult a high school girl in order to feel powerful and important???!!!!

Other than that the fans and players on both sides were great and gave it their all...and what an awesome game it was!

Congrats to perennial power Tomball on another great season for a great program, and Congrats to The Woodlands for making their first ever trip to the Texas state Final Four in Austin!!!!!

The entire Tomball-The Woodlands series was intense. 3 of the best high school games I have ever seen.

I do think that the best team won, but that doesn't mean that Tomball isn't an awesome team!

I can tell you that in all my years, I have heard the phrase "leave it all on the field" and that is EXACTLY what I saw last night! I saw 2 teams loaded with talent playing in a game that the momentum could swing on any pitch that was thrown. At the end of the night, ALL of these girls were SPENT! They truly did leave it all on the field and both The Woodlands and Tomball PARENTS should be proud of what they accomplished.

I just found out that there are 4 or 5 starters from each team that all play Gold ball for the Peppers Gold. I saw the same girls that were battling like their lives depended on it last night all cutting up together today at Burroughs Park like nothing happened last night. That was a pretty cool thing to see!

Congratulations to Tomball! 3 of the best games I have ever seen! You girls fought to the bitter end and handed the Woodlands their first loss of the season.

Congratulations and GOOD LUCK to The Woodlands! You earned it! Now go to Austin and bring back the BIG TROPHY!
