(Reuters) MLB's steward, Bud Selig, has just announed that Frank McCourt will retain ownership of the Los Angeles Dodgers. That has changed. jamie moved to strike the contract and it was just announced that the Dodgers will be sold via lottery (story here: http://mlb.sbnation.com/2011/5/23/2182757/dodger-divorce-sale-frank-mccourt-jamie-mccourt)
Upon hearing that Ray-Ray was back on the market, The Lady Lasers of Ohio made their move to fill the expected gap caused by the rumored defection of one of their pitchers to the Firecrackers. The Lasers were able to get an executive order from the Governor allowing for the first ever public financing of a travel ball player contract. Terms are still undisclosed, but sources close to the Governor said that they expect to fund the historic contract with a new 5% tax on pole barns.
