In light of the logical fallacy of your other posts, this doesn't surprise me at all.

No they just cannot seem to refrain from having a discussion about girls softball without bringing it into the discussion for shock value.

Have a great Easter weekend.

I was merely posting a "stat" every bit as relevant as those you posted. As much as mine may have had shock value for you, yours were even more shockingly ill-informed to me.

Have fun at the park with the perverts.
Don't worry about tomorrow. You did that yesterday.

This is our ritual every time we leave the house.
I'm thinking of sponsoring a bill requiring all parents to do this.
If it saves one life it must be worthwhile.

Peace.

this is my daughter from a tournament in lousiana last year the result of this was a trip to the hospital she turned out to be ok but she was having a funny feeling in her chest and trouble breathing as she put it

there are many post on here not supporting the face mask and a lot of people arguing with themi think the most simple response to the people that do not have their kids wear them is wait until she takes a line drive to the chest or the face then make your decision if you support them or not

and maybe you wont have to make that decision your DD may make it for you
my daughter never wanted to wear one either because she said it bothered her after she was able to get up (with help) and get back to the dugout while waiting on the ambulance to get there she looked me in the eye and said with a weak and very labored breath Daddy i want a mask

so until you deal with this issue first hand you are arguing just to argue get a little first hand experience and maybe just maybe you may have a different perspective

BTW she also wears an evoshield heart protector that a parent at that tournament told us about www.evoshield.com buy the mask and the heart protectors the life you save may be your own child

I just ordered a giant hamster ball on the internet to send my kid out in next time she plays.
That should just about cover all her exposed parts and prevent just about any possible injury.

Pitchers please wear the masks...parents please have your pitchers wear the masks...I saw a line drive this past weekend rip the facemask off a pitcher...she was dazed and fell immediately...imagine if she didn't have the mask on! Very scary!

That's something that we never get with the stats of how many girls are actually injured by batted balls to the face. I see alot of girls wearing the mask now a days so it makes me wonder what the stats would look like if the number of girls wearing the mask when hit in the face, wasn't wearing it. Oh well, I am for pro choice on this though. If parents feel that it is not a risk for their dd to be that close to a batter without one, then so be it. I don't think that it makes anyone a bad parent no more than I think it makes a bad parent to start their DDs in 10u travel ball but some of the mask pro choice people will damn sure argue that one but that's another subject. I know one girl that won't be a statistic of a ball batted to the face without a mask and personally that's all I can control.

Any follow up on the girl that go hit...I hope she makes a full recovery. :)

Was at tournament a few years ago, and a pitcher was wearing a plastic mask (I know there are metal ones out there now). She was playing third and had a ball, not to sharply hit, smack her in the mask. The mask shattered and she had a huge piece of plastic stuck in her eye...(ouch) now I am not too sure what happened to her or if they sued the mask maker, but my guess is that she will no longer wear one if she can play/see any more.

I was at a tournament this year, a team that was not very good playing 14U at a pretty big tourney(Cali,NV,AZ,CO,OR teams) all of their players including the outfield were wearing mask. The girls warming up the outfield, they too were wearing mask...

Did I care, no. It brings into play that this needs to be a parent issue and everyone else that is not the parent needs to stay out of that parents business. If you want your outfielder to wear one, have them do so. I will not be doing that.

20 years ago when Smith and Hernandez were pitching at a younger age, I am pretty sure they did not have a mask on and were 3' closer (regardless of the new bat tech).

Be a parent if you think it is something your child needs, please do not be my child’s parent as well (she has 4, 2 step parents and she gets enough advice all ready).

Just remember, there was a time baseball players did not wear helmets at all and softball youngsters did not have a face mask on their helmets.

You cant compare elite pitchers to adolescent and teen girls without those same skills. The reality is that the game has changed. Hitters are better. Bats are off the hook. I get that its a parental issue, but at least make a salient argument and dont compare Olympic athletes to kids. Also, that extra 3 feet benefits the hitter more than the pitcher. Add in bat technology and your example is silly.
