Recruiting out of state

by fodder » Tue May 03, 2011 8:07 am

Word on the street is that Firecrackers 98 is having a visiting player next weekend at the Mothers Day Classic tourney. Apparently, the # 1 pitcher from Lady Lasers is coming out to play for them. How about that one? :o

Guess maybe "Coach Beauty" is a better recruiter than coach?

Didn't you already post this in the "best 12u in midwest" thread? A bit redundant, don't you think? Do you have an axe to grind here or what?
Don't worry about tomorrow. You did that yesterday.

Kool Mo Dee!! If they can get a girl from out of state then she should officially be on that team and keep playing with them throughout the summer. Its not uncommon to have players from other states on your team especially as they get older. If she is playing for a reputable team and organization then it only improves her recruiting visibility. Good for FC98!!! Btw I know a couple of speedsters in the safari. Sending a couple of slapping videos out there today.

I guess she better make sure her college profile is up to date before making the trip. OMG, this is 12u!

Note to parents: Dont forget to include the following in her profile.

XYZ Middle School, GPA: 4.0
8u/10u all stars, Summer Jam All-Star tourney champs
6th/7th Grade Honor Orchestra
Volunteers in toddler room at church on Sunday
2011 Golden Thin Mint Award for top cookie seller for scout troop

News Flash:

Grapettes pitcher unhappy with new AASA 14u Team, and parents unhappy about heybucket bashing from Nor Cal folks for making the move. Contacted Victory for tryout. Parents claim they have established So Cal residency at an Orange County RV park since Grapettes have played in So Cal so much this season.

USA Athlethics, Punishers and Rawlings in negotiations with Scott Boras for rights to TPS-98 pitcher out of Houston. Corona Angels dropped out of the negotiations after taking a pitcher from Rawlings 2 weeks ago. :o

Is the 12u talent level that low in So Cal these days?

I bet the So Cal teams will be happy to scout her during her visit so they know what approach to take and how to adjust to her at Nationals. You think the team she will be playing with wouldn't love to know more about their competition at Nationals? And it looks like someone has decided to be accommodating and give them a free shot at it. Sounds like an ego issue with either the girl's parents or coach (or both) to see if she can shut down some of the So Cal teams, at the expense of tipping your hand well in advance of Nationals. It will be easier for 6-8 or so teams at MDC that may end up at Nationals (FC98 and FC99 already have berths) to scout one player than it will be for this girl's parents/coach to scout the hitters for all those teams and remember how to pitch to them at Nationals. Heck, she wont even get a shot at Victory since they aren't in the MDC, but you can probably bet Victory will be out there in full force to scout her.
