NorCal

12U Spring/Summer Ranking

by Tenshun » Mon May 02, 2011 1:18 pm

Bmxbaby, I know you are new to this board, so just in case you thought Norcal teams stood a chance against Socal teams, heres a little Bucket history for ya!

Directly from Dud himself.

1. Victory - Sounds like this is the team that will win it all, so all your thoughts and prayers are for nothing but wasted time and space.

2.Firecrackers - Good team but I don't think their are better than Victory.

3.Artesia - Good team, probably better that Nor Cal teams

3.So Cal Breakers - Same as above

5.OC Batbusters - Name alone will make your team quiver

In other words, Norcal teams should be afraid. Very afraid.

Smash is legit for sure, big strong hitters and solid defense to go with pitching. The test will be when it comes to Nationals and will they be deep enough (pitching wise) to handle a 8 or 9 game stretch in Alabama heat/humidity, brutal.

Be real careful when saying you beat up on a Angel team or Cracker team or a OCBB team, as there are several and the stronger ones are true 2nd year 12's and look like 16's :o

Corona Angels had 2 U12 teams in Fresno this weekend. Both the 98 and 99. Smash and CCDD both had a nice win over the 98 team.

Enough of my Sarcasm. Bracky has Corona Angels ranked #6 in So cal. So yes, I think Norcal has some teams who can "rep" in SoCal.

Lots of lessons to be learned from playing a solid young team like RR. First one being (a very obvious one), you got to win the first game to get to the next. Never look past any opponent. Nice job RR.

Lots of Norcal teams have a solid top 9, but you got have depth if you want to roll deep on Sunday and climb Tenshuns ranking. The roadside is littered with teams leaving early because they only had one pitcher, a couple of hitters or were some other variety of one trick pony.

Also, if you saw the action at the Force shoot me a PM and let me know what stood out to you.

From what is being gathered here, do we finally have some NorCal teams that can rep in a SoCal tourney?

If I am not mistaken, CCDD took 2nd in the last 2 SoCal tourney's they played in. Last tourney of fall ball "Turkey Bash" Dirtdogs took 2nd place losing to OC batbusters by a run or 2. "Hunginton Beach Classic" Dirtdogs took 2nd place losing to the Corona Angels 98 by 1 run on what has been said to be a very controversial call. So YES without doubt NorCal teams can and have represented in SoCal tourney's. :o :o

Don't believe the So Cal hype - I picked a team from Nor Cal last year in 14U to win it all and they didn't do to bad at Nationals ;) Also the second best Nor Cal 14U team was really the second best So Cal team.. go figure! :o

Norwoods team would have been easily #3 in So. Cal (top 5 nationals) by July if they had stayed together.

To answer Tenshuns post about under the radar 12u teams my vote goes to the Lady Hawks. A top ten team? Probally not, but capable of handling good teams. I do know their coach demands good grades and picks his teams accordingly. I guess you can run your program like a Stanford and demand good grades and characature or you can run it like a Florida State and don't care about that stuff. Wouldn't be surprised if they make some noise before the summers over. Like everything else.written on Hey Bucket it's just an opinion.

Bracky I agree with you!!!

That NW team had a good chance. Too bad they wont get to prove whether or not they are a better team nor will the other teams that were chasing them get to prove it either.

In most cases parents just want to do whats best for their dds and in some cases moving on is the right thing to do. I remember one parent in this forum talking about how these are just young girls and that they have still have a lot to learn. Wow! Check yourself parents!

Justwin I dont get it. Are you pro-Grape or Anti-Grape? Your the one who broke the news about the Grapes losing player and seemed pretty enthusiastik about it. Then you deleted all your posts that started the buzz. Now u seem to be defending them?
