Batter walks into dugout after strike 2

ASA, 1-0 count. next pitch is a strike, our coach asks HU if thats 0-2 count, HU says 1-1. next pitch is a strike and batters walks away and into her dugout. Our coach asks is she out for going back to the dugout, but HU calls her back and says she didn't hear me. Not sure what the HU meant about the batter not hearing him. As it's a friendly we didn't press the issue, but we think she should have been called out for leaving the field of play without calling time. Did HU make the right call?

The player would be out if she were a batter-runner or a runner. This player was neither.

This is a correctable situation. The batter is returned to the batter's box with the correct count. As MTR stated, the player would be out if they were a batter-runner or a runner and entered the dugout.

Thanks for the reply. I was thinking about a situation/rule where a batter gets ball 4 and walks into her dugout to set her bat down and is then called out. She is a batter-runner. In my situation the player was only a batter, not a batter-runner. I get it.
