I heard Smash won 8-0 or 9-1. Smash is the real deal I guess.
Apparently they handled both Socal teams.

PitchersDad99 wrote:Tenshun, we will see after this weekend where the chips fall. There are a lot of good teams playing in Fresno. Some of the teams are not the teams you are usually listing, so I will be interested to see who gets noticed. It can't be said that nobody has seen them after this weekend.

Pitchersdad, so did your team surprise folks this weekend? I thought it looked like the strongest performers were the teams who are already ranked - although Tenshin's ranking might need some updating after the weekend's performances.

My guess is that your surprise team was Fresno Force. Am I right? If so, I thought they had a good ball club.

Has any one been able to verify what happened in Fresno and what teams are looking like? Also heard RR showed up and turned heads as well. But it would be nice for someone who was actually there give a blurb or two.

My bad...Storm over lightning

Quarter finals were
Smash over breeze 99 (nice showing for the 99 Breeze)
Hype over RR Gold (again, nice showing for RR...beat Foothill Gold to get to Quarters)
Dirt Dogs over Sting (Dirtdogs sent Corona Angels home!!) Good to see NoCal teams beating good SoCal teams.
Storm over lightning

Semi-finals
Smash over Hype
Dirt Dogs over Storm

Finals
Smash over DirtDogs 9-1

Congrats to the 12u Smash and Dirt Dogs teams. Smash is on a roll right now. It will be intresting to see who can slow them down.

Looks like RR gold had a very solid showing in Fresno and just like mentioned in Tenshuns ranking, they snuck up on some good older 12u teams.

Lots of lessons to be learned from playing a solid young team like RR. First one being (a very obvious one), you got to win the first game to get to the next. Never look past any opponent. Nice job RR.

Lots of Norcal teams have a solid top 9, but you got have depth if you want to roll deep on Sunday and climb Tenshuns ranking. The roadside is littered with teams leaving early because they only had one pitcher, a couple of hitters or were some other variety of one trick pony.

Also, if you saw the action at the Force shoot me a PM and let me know what stood out to you.

Pitcherdad99...sorry to hear you will be playing in Fresno...Only a handful of good teams...Smash, Angels & heat.....B Ball tourny...Only 1 top ten team plaing in Force Classic.

After the Dirtdogs beat up on the Corona Angels, I wonder if they think it was a "B" tourney?

From what is being gathered here, do we finally have some NorCal teams that can rep in a SoCal tourney?
