I think the Lady Spartans will take care of Huntsville.

The first round will lose at least one of the top ranked teams by virtue of the match up alone.
Willis and Brenham faced off earlier in the year and it was a slugfest. Might be the same again.

Hey PittPanther,
Looking forward to the games this weekend. Hope we have a good matchup. I was not able to attend last matchup though I heard about it. Should be fun. You going tonight?

I can see you have your stirring stick out. However if your not from Montgomery I wouldn't be so hasty. No one was happy with the Re-Districting. Playing weaker teams does not make you better in the long run. I believe that if District 18 would have stayed the same it would have been an awesome slugfest. I hate to admit it but, I believe Montgomery and Huntsville come out on top. And I believe Huntsville can go toe to toe with Montgomery all day long. They both handed it to everyone at one time or another, decisively. Still the LadyKats have a good team this year and are capable, if they just get those sticks going! And this IS their best shot for a couple of years.

Absolutely. I will be watching my kid play.
Should be a great atmosphere to watch a playoff game.

Not sure many remember but Woodlands got beat last year in two games to Rowlett. They were supposed to win it then as well. I beileve they are highly overrated but we will see. Hype follows some of their players and certainly that school.

Yes, Rowlett did beat them in 2 games last season. The Woodlands had (5) sophomores and (2) freshmen starting for them too.

I don't know if they can win it all or not, but 33-0 is NOT overrated.

This season they have beaten the following teams that are currently in the playoffs:

Bellaire
Montgomery
Austin Bowie
Katy Seven Lakes
New Braunfels
Katy Taylor
Austin Westlake
New Caney
Ft. Bend Elkins
Kingwood (twice)
Flower Mound

They won their first playoff game against Klein by run rule 12-0. I am glad they were over confident or this one could have gotten ugly!

33-0 is not over rated. That is the question. We don't know at this point. The Woodlands has been over hyped and has been ranked as the No. 1 high school team in the U.S. for much of the season. I am not convinced they have played a lot of good teams or faced much quality pitching.

Since they take the top 4 teams in each district, being in the playoffs doesn't mean you are a good team. So wins against playoff teams particularly against 4A and 3A teams are not necessarily "quality wins."

Now is the time for the Woodlands team to write their story. The Woodlands has a lot of good players and they may live up to the hype. But anything less than a trip to Austin is going to be a disappointment. If the best high school team in the nation doesn't win their region, they are over rated.

What happened to Stony Point - a top 15 state ranked team? 4-3 loss to Bowie. Bowie averaged giving up 5 runs in district including 7 to Del Valle. What happened to Stony's offense. I guess they were waiting for the Houston round of the playoffs to turn it on.

Not picking on the players. Just making the point that a lot of these top teams are beatable, or capable of losing, especially in a one game playoff.

Great games?
Big upsets?
Don't worry about tomorrow. You did that yesterday.
