12U teams with berths from last year:

2010 ASA Girls’ 12-Under Class A Fast Pitch National Championship Finals - Western
02 ) Firecrackers 98 Brashear Ontario California

2010 USA/ASA 10-Under Class A Fast Pitch National Championship Finals
01 ) Firecrackers 99 Cerritos California
02 ) So Cal Jynx 99 West Covina California

2010 ASA Girls’ 10-Under Class A Fast Pitch National Championship Finals - Western

Edit: Removed So Cal Breakers since it was Imoto's 97 team, not Sieber's 98 team. Thanks CoachEd

50 Teams? That is way too many! They should have qualifiers in order to reach states. Some of the better teams will cancel each other out due to their draw, while some of the other teams will advance because of their draw. There has to be a way to ensure that better teams are not battling each other to early...just some thoughts :?:

Yep, that has been an issue for a long time, especially just a couple years ago when So Cal ASA States only gave out 3 berths, but there were still that many teams playing. At least now there are 12 berths. But even with that, some very good team(s) get knocked out due to a tough draw, while another (perhaps weaker) team makes it through. That happened to Batbusters (Snow) last year.

Now that you have the So Cal ASA website link, send a compaint to the Commish.

PDad, the Breakers team that won 12u ASA Westerns in 2010 was Breakers (Imoto), not Sieber. So, Imoto has a berth to 14u Nats this year; Sieber does not have a berth (Yet).

This makes no sense. Decreasing the number of teams would increase the likelihood of top teams playing each other early. ASA states is "put up or shut up" (or go out of town to qual  ) time. With 12 berths available, the best teams should qualify easily, even if 2 or 3 have to win a few in the LB.
Don't worry about tomorrow. You did that yesterday.
