Travel ball is not meant to be rec. ball or "wreck ball" as you put it. Kids leave that for a reason and now it seems the "wreck ball" mentality is moving into Travel ball.

Great tournament at HSE this weekend. Congratulations to the Xtreme girls. It was a great weekend for growth for the Indiana Heat. Very happy with how the girls played hard all weekend and never quit. Heck, I was even ready to go home on Saturday. The weather was crazy!!!
Gators looked fantastic as did the Xtreme all weekend.

The team who hits the ball and makes the least errors shall win the game. Unfortunately, we hit well last weekend but had way to many errors running the bases and in the field.
Three very good teams that played each other well.

The Crush also played us very very well. They should not be overlooked either.
Excellent group of kids this year with fantastic attitudes on all teams. It is a fun year!

Love your comment...."Wakeup, Travel the State?? These guys can barely leave the 465 loop" it sounds like you are familiar with these Indy teams. We will be close to your "465 Loop" on two occasions this season, ASA Qualifier in Martinsville, and Brownsburg "Battle of the Bats" ...we are looking forward to leaving the Region and playing different teams.

I agree with Coach! The teams are getting too watered down. It seems that every year new organizations are popping up. All it takes is one, two, or a few disgruntled parents (whose kids are usually at the bottom and not playing) to start their own team. They may p/u a "stud" (I use this word with caution) or a couple of above average players, but you know they are going to play their "superstar" kids before anyone else, regardless of ability. With that being said, the team would be lucky to have a .500 record and get destroyed at the World Series (probably B World Series to boot). It's a shame for the "stud" and/or the above average players to be on a team like this when they could have been with another team that already had a "stud" and a few above average players already on the team, so the girls could play at a more competitive level. It seems like all you need are nine bodies and a checkbook to get a team signed up anymore...what a shame!!

Tim, it was great playing you guys this weekend. It seems no matter how good or how bad either of our teams are playing when we go against each other it's always close. We enjoy it and look forward to seeing you guys again soon!

looking in- i'm gonna have to side with Bake on the whole "bid" thing. my daughter plays for CP 10u but her best friend from school is on the white sox..........both her and her mom said that the team is all signed up and on board for johnson city.......

I had the opportunity last week to watch a 14U team play that was missing some players and they brought in players from some other teams that are not playing due to High School. While watching these games I was reminded of what travel ball should be. IMHO travel ball teams should be a group of 10 or 11 players that are solid or studs if you will. I have to say it was
a lot of fun to watch them play. As watered down as travel has become this is a rare instance.


This team had girls from: Dreams, Voltage, Freedom, Red Chix and Game FX.

I just wish about half the travel teams would go away and half the girls would go back to Rec. Then Travel Ball would be competitive again. Just my opinion!

Now can you explain to us "rookies" how you got an asa/usa berth in the fall? Also, where did the bid come from - National level or State level? What state? Because I know some coaches that would be interested in this.
