Regardless, they are always costly to remove.

Fortunately, cancerous genes carried by parents are in most cases not clearly linked to the genes of their children, or vise versa. :geek:

Funny!! Let me add though as counter advocate....A carcinogen is any substance, radionuclide, or radiation potential CAUSE of the cancer that is an agent DIRECTLY INVOLVED in CAUSING cancer.[/b] This may be due to the ABILITY to DAMAGE the GENOME or to the DISRUPTION of cellular metabolic PROCESSES. SEVERAL SUBSTANCES are CONSIDERED CARCINOGENS, but their carcinogenic ACTIVITY is ATTRIBUTED to the RADIATION. hmmm!

I would respectfully retort that the apprearance of your counter advocacy, lacks proper diction and specificity as it relates to radiation and carcinogens. Specifically, radioactivity, i.e. radioactive substances/DD parents, are carcinogens who's activity is attributed to radiation, and/or conspiring DD parents......An admirable, effort. However, if i may be so bold in saying, it's science, it's factual, it's irrefutable.

1. Victory - Sounds like this is the team that will win it all, so all your thoughts and prayers are for nothing but wasted time and space.

2.Firecrackers - Good team but I don't think their are better than Victory.

3.Artesia - Good team, probably better that Nor Cal teams

3.So Cal Breakers - Same as above

5.OC Batbusters - Name alone will make your team quiver

This post/ranking lacks a sound, scientific basis......but I like it.

The selfishness of the player and her parents is astonishing. She is playing for a top team with one of the areas top "COACHES", where she is being taught the game. ILB is correct that alot of these parents haven't been it long enough to know what is right. All I have witnessed from NW parents is contemped for other players, playing their DD position or making an error. Get over yourselfs (Parents). Every single player is and will make mistakes, either physical and/or mental. They are 12!! You need to live FOR your DD, not through them. Listen and watch what Coach NW is teaching your DD. YOU MIGHT LEARN SOMETHING. Maybe this is what is needed to bring this team full cirlcle. Bring them back to playing together, not as individuals. Good Luck NW ladies.
Shame on you AASA for taking a player off a Team that is in mid-season. This is something that I would expect from RR, not AASA. I have lost the respect for their coach (JM) for his actions. I thought he was a stand up guy doing a great job with his kids. What he has done, IMHO, is disrupted his chemistry and bringing on baggage. I can't imaging that there are alot of girls happy about this, if you think I'm lying, wait for the grumblings after a couple of tournaments (playing time). This is not directed at the girls themselfs, but the coaches and parents. I wish the girls playing for AASA, continued success and best of Luck.

Mr. Iceman is very astute in this observation. The DD Mom responsible for this flailing of verbiage, is obviously suffering from a periodic syndrome which can create drastic hormonal disruption, leading to irrational thoughts and/or behavior. The efficacy of patience and tender reasoning cannot be overstated in these cases and is surely the safest non-medicinal approach.

Can someone please tell me when the appropriate time to move to a new u14 team is? If it is not now why are there so many advertisements in the paper and on formums for players. Not only players, but ones with experience. Where do you think they get the experience? Other teams that they just left. Just because a player happens to the best player on a team doesn't make them more obligated then the others. Im sure players leave teams all the time. Why would people chose to attack a 12 year old kid and her family and presume they know exactly what is going on. I don't know I'm new to this whole thing, but do all players get abused for leaving or is it just the best players.

Have not read this thread and just heard about this yesterday. My DD played for coach Norwood and the Grapes, she played a instrumental part in my DD's development not just as a softball player but as a competitor, and that has made my DD into a very competitive softball player, and we could not be more appreciative to coach Norwood for playing such a part. I also have had the pleasure of watching coach Mello do his thing several times over the last year, and have been very impressed and have expressed that to him several times. Its not to often you find adults that are in it for the right reasons, and he is one of them, and no doubt Norwood is the same.

Movement in softball is very normal, but movement in softball by parents in what is almost May is a lack of respect to not only the coach involved but for the entire team. I am sorry but you can give me 1000 excuses why and without reading or getting PM's I already can probably tell you why but it is stupidity to think that it was a good move. When you commit to a team in January and move in almost May, its on the parents 99.9% of the time, and it is totally wrong IMO. We all make mistakes on this softball run, and we have made several, but we stuck them out and held to our commitment in even some very trying situations. My DD played in some very intense 12U national games that prepared her for future big games, and now even though AASA has a solid team (seen them several times), they will not be playing late in week at nationals, like Norwood's 12's would have been, and thats what the parents took away from their kid the opportunity to be challenged by the best in her own age group. Big difference between 12's and 14's late in week at nationals, trust me you start to see monsters showing up to play you. I do not put any blame on coach Mello, as if any player of that caliber called me I would say, what number you want. What a shame

RBI,
Thanks, I appreciate your feedback, but I'm still confused as to why this player has been picked out to attack on this formum when other players switch teams all the time.

Something must of set them off. It is never a good sign when multiple players leave a team, ESPECIALLY mid season! Maybe its not the Coach. Is there someone else involved in running the team? Does anyone on the bulletin know?

Ultimately, there is ONLY 1 PERSON responsible for what is happening with a team, and that is the head coach for a travel team. They decide where a team plays, they decide who is a team mom, who is a team manager, who plays when, who plays where, and what color socks the team wears. if there are outside influences that are hurting a team, it is the HEAD COACHES responsibility to take care of those problems. If i have parent issues, I can not turn to someone else to handle those problems... I need to handle those problems.

This is the EXACT reason why my teams do not have business managers, team moms or any other person other than I involved in decision making for my team. Cause the responsibility is ultimately one persons... the head coach.

I have been following this thread as a neutral observer and haven't seen any post where the player was attacked. The only thing I've seen is people questioning the parents decision to move and one or two of them questioning the coach that would accept the new player (which I disagree with...the player's going somewhere, why not his/her team).

I came in and questioned why a particular poster seemed so excited that the player(s) were moving and insinuated that they might have an axe to grind.

And that poster is the one that started all of this. Kind of ironic, eh?
