New 12U March 2011 Poll Ballot! Due March 16th

Please find attached the 12U coaches and pollsters ballot for the upcoming March 18th 12U Poll.

All completed poll ballots need to be sent to Bracketologist at cabracketologist@gmail.com by Wednesday March 16th.

A couple of basic rules for new pollsters:

1. Rankings should reflect the on the field performance of the team and should not take into any consideration a pollster's dislike for a particular coach.

2. If you have not seen a team play or don’t feel comfortable ranking a certain team – you should leave that team blank (we have a methodology that takes into consideration teams that have not been seen by many pollsters/coaches).

3. Please focus any comments on positive things or key insights (i.e., Team X has two major injuries that will hurt their offensive).

New poll is done will put it out on Monday...... decided to watch softball this weekend instead of posting the new poll

Maybe it needs to be done over based on results from this past weekend's So Cals Finest St. Paddys Day tourney. Otherwise, the poll may be obsolete already, or Brackey may have to include a few extra notes, particularly since a few top 10 ranked teams (based on last poll) lost to unranked or somewhat lower teams in that tourney, and the top 2 battled it out in a game that counted for something.

Sorry, but I aint taking the bait on that one. I'll just give Brackey my thoughts via the poll just like everyone else.

[Mr. Observation]

1. Firecrackers 98 - Best hitting and pitching in 12U.

2. Victory 98 - Strong Defensive team. Everybody knows the coaches credentials. Coach can't hit for them.

3. OCBB 98 - Good Pitcher. Has beat teams #3-8 and tied #1. Needs to play and win a big tournament.

4. Punishers 98 - Up and down team. Tends to lose focus and gets beat by teams they shouldn't. On the up right now. Won 2 tournaments. Focus back?

5. Breakers 98 - Good pitching. Much Improved. Bats can slump at times.

6. Firecrackers 99 - Solid young team. Young is the problem. Should've learned a lot from the St. Paddy's day disaster.

7. OCBB 99 - Solid team. Timely hitting. Defense improving. Pitching ?

8. USA Athletics 98 - Looks good on paper. Haven't performed well under pressure. A lot of talk about being overated. I think they have a lot of talent. Need to put it together.

9. Double Play 98 - Have got better as a team. Need to play with the top teams in top tournaments.

10. Rawlings 98 - Not a consistent team at all. Has trouble beating the teams they shouldn't. Big bats haven't come through. Defense is questionable. Can't live off the fall accomplishments.

11. So Cal Athletics - Good team that has beat some top teams. Not much Depth. Will need to pick up some in order to win in a big tournament.

12. San Diego Aztecs 98 - Looked good when I saw them but they beat a team they should've. Look good from the outside.

13. Nemesis 98 - How long can the good players carry the team. They have trouble getting quality wins.

14. Corona Angels 98 - They can't live off the triple crown tournament forever. Big bats but they give up a lot of runs. Need to work on the pitching and defense.

15. Strikeforce 98 - They did not look good the few innings I watched. Must of been a bad day. They were ranked high for a reason I quess?

The list above isnt too bad.....just because Victory lost 1 game I would not move them down in rank.....Double Play is decent but I am not sure about placing them above Rawlings as Rawlings has been more constistent since Fall.

The other team I am not sure about is Aztecs... the last tourney they joined was the LV St. Paddy's and they lost very early to an AZ team which Nemesis beat in the next round.

I think the Punishers have some good momentum and deserve to be top 4... The Angels should be a spot or two higher.

Where are the two AA teams ranked??? I am surprised that neither are considered top 15....I have not seen Strike Foce play so I am not sure how they compare but I would think that AA should be in that spot.
