teams getting started

I went back and checked our schedule and i can't find a single 8th grade team on our(FC) Varsity schedule! I'm sure they are loaded, 2nd place finish at FT. Wayne in march!!? Supportive parents? My playing days are over, i can pull something coughing! Honestly, can we aleast let these super 8th graders get to high school before we give them a state title? ALOT will happen to some of these girls once they walk the halls in HS! Good luck though! See ya in a couple years

I'm a bit confused as to why this gets questioned. Look at the stats. Kids who do not have a support systme in place rarely reach their potential. I'm not bashing the post...I get the message, and have taken the tiara's, rings, and tropheys back. I have been around long enough to recognize the qualities of a special group. My daughter is a year younger than these girls....her group and the group behind her have trouble fielding a team. The parents are not as energized. This bleeds off into the kids. As much as I want to believe it is my daughter who is in the drivers seat, and no matter how many times I tell her she is.
If I changed my attitude toward sports and said "no honey, we are going to the lakes for the weekend, or vacation the last week of July with family, or we don't have $250 for the new bat, $100 FOR THE GLOVE, $1000 for team fees, $80 for cleats, money for gas, hotels, meals, time off work, sliding shorts, sports bras, underarmour, game face, batting gloves, hitting coach, pitching coach. The 3am games, listening to other parents, etc........" I am a supportive parent. I am more demanding of her in the classroom than I am on the field. So, As I stated before. I am a bit confused as to why supportive parents gets a question mark.

This was the reason for the ?? You made it sound(to me anyway) that the parents played!! Never questioned the importance of parent support!! I have 3 dd's and i've been supporting for 20 yrs!$$!! Jeez, take it easy, i'm sure your a great parent! If the situation is that bad for your dd coming up, MOVE, it's legal!!

My post was an observation not a prognostication. I observed a talented group of girls worthy of note and relevant to previous posts in this topic.

This "topic" was about High School ball! Now it's gone to how great the 7th and 8th graders are!?? I've been hearing rumblings about the group(kids and parents) coming up for a couple years now! Looks like they maybe true!

I guess that doesn't include your previous post or this one...."There have been a few comments about the 8th graders, but the 7th graders this year are loaded! You might have seen a few of them if you watched the Indy Blast 97 & 98 teams. The 97 team had 4 strong FC kids, and the 98 team featured a very good young pitcher. The Edge 97 team has two girls that will be in that class, and one with TM Dreams team. I don't how things will turn out over the next several years, but the talent at FC will not be down!" Hmmmmmm

Since the Yorktown team is so fabulous and got 2nd place, I guess the Olympic team must have disguised themselves as 14U and mustered the strength and courage to win the tournament!

The Blast! Now there was a quality organization! LOL Several quality players and families for sure, many being my friends, that got misled into that mess.

FC should be strong the next couple of seasons, and for the person who thinks that they won't have anything after the junior class graduates, your crazy! They have some sophmores that can play, a few freshmen that will be solid, and as others have said the younger age groups are strong. Moot point-It doesnt matter how much talent is coming through F.C. It's always been 'u kno hoo' that's kept em from the BIG ONE!

Until there is a 'changing of the guard', expect the same!
