This is true BUT the Heat are banged up big time with two of their top bats plus an infielder and a catcher. Their ace catcher and a top hitter has a broken foot and just had abdominal surgery. Also, one of the Heats top hitters and middle infielders was out due to illness. The Heat had to bring up an 8 year old to be able to play for the weekend. Kudos to the Heat for still showing up to play and playing 3-3, 3-2 and 6-4 ballgames with the Bulldogs. The Heat and Bulldogs both were easily the top teams of the tournament. Crown Point is solid all the way around offensively and defensively. Bulldog girls are very very agressive at the plate and hit really well. The Heat were lacking a bit at the plate and had a few errors in the field that cost them at least one game. The Heat defense is usually much more solid but with 2 girls missing that is understandable.
Fun to watch them play and both teams were very good sports and competitive.
I hope to see them play again. The Heat will definitely need all their girls healthy and play an error free game in order to beat the Bulldogs.
The Bulldogs and the Heat both said even though they are B teams they are going to play in the NSA A State this year. So far that will be Indiana Heat, Crown Point Bulldogs, Extreme, Gators and Magic. Nice to see some new names come to the A level. They are legit!!
