How do you score this?

Championship game (of course). DD starts the game (pitcher) and leaves after the second inning with a 4 to 0 lead (DD had pitched 12 innings in a row this day in 110 degree heat. Time to get her out of there). The next pitcher comes in and pitches three innings. She starts to get wild and starts walking girls. She leaves after the 5th inning with the score 6 to 3 (We are still in the lead). Head coach puts my DD back in and she pitches the last two innings. Game ends with the score remaining the same. My question is does DD get the win, save, or both?

Not sure if you can save the game for yourself.

I would assume she would get the win, and hopefully an ice pack from her coach as he carries her bag to the parking lot.

I figured she would get the win, but none of the parents @ the "after" party had an answer. And yes, she was packed on ice before she left the park.

She left with a 4-0 lead. Being the other team only scored 3, she is still the pitcher of record, and thus gets credit for the win........

I would think the save, she would have needed to pitch into the 4th inning to get the W. The relief would get the W. I know this is how it would be score in baseball. Starter has to complete more than 1/2 the game to get the win. If reliever comes in with lead before and through the halfway point and the teams holds, he/she gets the win.

She gets a save. If you read the ASA rule...it would allow her to get a save and a win for the pitching the exact same innings. The intent is to give one pitcher a win and one pitcher a save...so I would argue that she gets a win and no save or a save and no win. She can't get both.

NFCA scorers' guide is pretty clear - the DD gets the win but does not get the save. DD meets the criteria for the save except for one important element: the winning pitcher cannot also earn a save.

Yes, she would get the win and the save since she left with the lead, the lead was never lost and she came back in with the other team down by three or less runs.

My bad, I read it as she pitched four innings, left the game, and then came back and pitched another inning.
