by AE_Y2K » Sat Feb 05, 2011 3:20 pm

Notice the quotation marks around trophies, sarcasm my friend.

We will take the proper steps toward confirmations, its tough to stay in contact continuously with 80+ teams. We are prepared for teams to drop.

Thanks for the incite

1. Aces
2. Storm Elite
3. TPS
4. Austins Finest
5. Impact Gold
6. Texas Glory 97 & 96
7. Texas Glory Adkins

All these teams could play in Houston or DFW so why go to Longview now that Ga impact and gametime are gone. I think we need some type of confirmation from these teams.

The boondocks is callin'...that's why.

...plus if you keep driving you'll find a casino or two in the great state of The Cajun. May is a good month for some East Texas fishin' too.

Otherwise...the bid dogs of DFW/Houston will stay home and save their pennies for the big trip to Nats in July/August.

Moral of the story?

...listen to Joe when he gives you good advice...
...and never mess with mom on Mother's Day...

Gotta give it to ya Joe, you were right on this one. Just heard all the big dogs in Texas are ditchin this one and playing a round robin in the DFW area that weekend. From my understanding, this one is gonna be pretty much a dead issue in 14's. I doubt If Arkansas Heat will come over once it's confirmed that all the Big Dogs are staying home. Damn, it was promising in the beginning too. Even though we couldn't play it, I was still looking forward to seeing how it played out for the rest.

Where do you see this information? I was told by another Oklahoma Team that is supposed to be playing in it ( Although he wasnt aware that you guys didnt play 43' in Texas so they probably wont now) Anyway, they were told ALL the Glory's, Storm Elite, Austins Finest, and a couple others were already committed.

On Another note, I suppose some of you guys from down that way could always come up to Norman that weekend. The Tuttle Magic is putting on their 8th Annual Bash for Cash, and I would anticipate all the premier Oklahoma City Area Teams being there. It's usually a pretty good tournament.

So your making these claims, and bashing this tourney on hearsay? And by the way there are 3 teams signed up now. ;)

Maybe it is just me but I feel it is a little disrespectful to try and promote a tournament on another tournaments forum. It is not that hard to start a forum about a tournament on this website. But maybe this is just me in that even if I am not playing in one tournament I don't try and pull teams from it. A little respect goes a long way in my opinion. Just because you chose not to play because of the pitching distance or any other reason doesn't mean you shouldn't show the TD a little more respect then that. JMO take it for what it is worth.

Dude Im not bashing anything. Im simply trying to confirm for a friend (OK Twisters) who has been invited to the round robin, what teams are going where that weekend. He was told what I said above but has been unable to confirm it. I wish Anderson the best and hope they can still save this tournament in 14's. By the way, you never answered the question. Where can I tell him to look so he can see who has signed up for the Round Robin.

Well I wasnt going to bring this up because I WAS trying to be respectful, but since your gonna call me out. I guess I'll let it fly.
I think its a little disrespectful for a TD to tell me point blank one thing to get me to commit so he could use our name to draw other teams and then change it a month later once he has everyone signed up. Do you really think I didnt ask about pitching distance when he called me? Bottom line is the Texas teams didnt want to play from 43' due to the HOF qualifier the next weekend so he changed it. EVEN THOUGH ALOT OF YOU INCLUDING YOU ROTHIE flat out stated that the distance shouldnt/wouldnt matter to a good team. So what is it? Either it affects you or it doesnt? If it doesnt like you guys were saying when we made the issue, then why wont the Texas teams play 43' the week before the HOF Qualifier? You cant have it both ways dude.
I'll tell you why, because anyone with half a clue knows it DOES affect you, and I understand perfectly why the Texas teams dont want to play from 43' that weekend. Also, Im not promoting anything or any tournament. Im not playing either one of them so I could care less. I did mention the Tuttle Tournament in Norman, but could you not sense my sarcasm? I knew no one would come up for that one. Texas teams hardly ever come up here and besides that one is 43'......just sayin.

Was just stating my opinion on bring up other tournaments and you are not the only one that is why I did not call out any names and will never call out names. Your post that brought up the other tournament was just the straw that broke the camels back so to speak. And well if you were told one thing (to use your name) and then it changed to another it is completely understandable why you got out and I have said in other post that everyone has a right to withdraw if they wish. As far as me not having a clue about the pitching distance that may be true as well because again I have not had to deal with the 3’. We are still at 12U and do not have to play at 43’ unless we play up in another sanctioning body, which we plan on doing but with that said it will no be the week before our State or WS just in case. :D I respect your opinion because you can’t have a team as strong as your and not know a little something about what you are talking about. Best of luck with your season and I hope to get a chance to see ya’ll play sometime.
I am sorry to have posted something that is not 100% about this tournament. So I would like to say, we all looking forward to the 12U part of this tournament and hope the others are strong as well because we just flat enjoy watching good softball no matter the age. Plus a strong 14U field would get our girls even more to strive to achieve!
