No disrespect to anyone but I would have to agree. I mean even as young as 8U where we play USSSA pitching machine is at 35' and ASA's is at 40' it didn't even seem to bother our girls way back then so not sure that the three from 40' to 43' will be that big a deal. Our pitchers pitch off and on in practice at 40' and 43' and shoot I even get behind a screen and pitch to them from 20' so not sure what it would matter so much. It is not like you are hitting a machine that pitches the same speed anyway. What is the differents between a pitch at 55 mph at 40' and 43' other then you have a split second more at 43' to figure it out. Just my thoughts and that is why I will have no problem playing up at 43' and then the next weekend going back to 40' where our teams will play state and WS at. JMO.
Looks to be a great tournament whether one or two teams do not decide to come or not. 12U has no reason other then unless something else comes up. Thank you all

With all due respect rothie, it does make a difference. Try pitching to your girls from 20' at 55mph. Every team goes through it while making the jump from 10U to 12U. The adjustment might be a little easier at 14U because the hitters should be better by then but again there is an adjustment that needs to be made. Same for pitchers. 3' more will add more break to your pitchers 3' less will add more speed to your pitches. Pitchers need to adjust to that as well.

a split second

That can be the fifference between a homerun and a pop up!

10U, 14U looks to be set with some good teams...can't wait to play

12U is missing Texas' big dog in Glory Adkins/D-Bat. Hope they can make it.

The 14u tournament looks good but are we sure all the teams are coming. I see that Ga Impact and Gametime both dropped the tournament. Other teams in question are:

1. Aces
2. Storm Elite
3. TPS
4. Austins Finest
5. Impact Gold
6. Texas Glory 97 & 96
7. Texas Glory Adkins

All these teams could play in Houston or DFW so why go to Longview now that Ga impact and gametime are gone. I think we need some type of confirmation from these teams.

Arkansas Heat & MS Elite are a good reason to go to Longview, both teams are top notch. I have seen both play. I Still have my money on Arkansas Heat.

The boondocks is callin'...that's why.

...plus if you keep driving you'll find a casino or two in the great state of The Cajun. May is a good month for some East Texas fishin' too.

Otherwise...the bid dogs of DFW/Houston will stay home and save their pennies for the big trip to Nats in July/August.

Moral of the story?

Thats two teams out of 21. How do we know whos coming? How do we know their(Heat) coming. I think its time for the coaches to comfirm we need numbers to call and make sure. I call Ga Impact when I first heard about this tournament and the coach said what I thought.(drop)

I will not back paddle because I really don't think that it will make that big a difference but hey what do I know. I am just speaking from what I believe. I am not sure what the "Try pitching to your girls from 20' at 55mph" has to do with anything. That would make it like 100mph at 40' and I do not know were you are from but all the pitchers from around here fall a little short of that. :D I will say that I believe there is a little adjustment going up but going back down after you have been doing that for a couple of years does not seem like it would cause that big a problem but I do not know because we have never had to go back down after anything more then a tournament that is. But again I respect everyones opinion.
Again JMO but the difference in a homerun and a pop up is were the bat strikes the ball. That "split second" will more then like be the difference between maybe a homerun and a foul off IMO.
I am with you in that I hope that Glory Adkins/D-Bat join in if it will make the tournament a better one. Either way the 12U look to be very strong and we are looking forward to this one.

If you've received an invite you would know why they're interested, we're dishing out some pretty sweet "trophies" for 1st-3rd place. If you think you're one of the favorites, it's well worth the travel pennies. Plus there will be some good teams, no matter if a team or two drop, it happens every wknd. Its out of our control, we've had two drop so far. One because they didnt wanna fly for a wknd tourney, the other bcuz of pitching distance.

I think you have the wrong age group if you think its about trophies. I spoke with several of the teams on the list and they are not coming. You may want to reconfirm your list.
