10U SOCAL TOP TEAM RANKING FIRST POLL 1/2011 - (2011 SEASON)

by itzfordakidz » Mon Jan 24, 2011 10:01 pm

M3Speedy, what team is your daughter on? Of course the CA00 were one of the favorites to win. But to say they did what they were suppose to do is just hating! They dominated on Sunday! With that said, any team listed in the so called "rankings" can be beat. They are 10u! More than half of these girls won't even play in high school because of burn out. Relax and enjoy some great softball by these young girls. FYI, 10 year old girls do not care about rankings only the parents living through their kids do. ;)

I'm not the one who posted rankings so don't aim your comments at me. I'm sure like me most of us know these rankings are for fun and don't mean anything in the big picture. Go straight to the source and complain about how you think 10u teams shouldn't have expectations. So why don't you ask their coach if he told his team that he didn't care or expect them to win and that they are only 10u and that's he's there to burn them out. I am watching these games and sitting back and having fun while writing about my observations. This is a softball forum isn't it and if you are one of these anti 10u haters then get off our posts. Who & what are Sea Dogs & what were they doing there??

What gives you the right to decide who plays and where? I don't see the purpose of trashing a new team. Perhaps you can tell me what your team has won. That's what I thought!

Speedy, I'm sure your dd has been on a team that was totally dominated by superior competion. Everyone has to start somewhere. I think all the 01 teams @ the tournament were beat by the older 10's. It's hard to compete against kids that are six months older let alone an entire year. There are only a handful of girls at this level that can compete against older girls. If you know the division from your " observations" then you know who those girls are. Do not demean the work of the kids and coaches for putting forth their time and money!

I agree there are teams that parents form just because they want to play travel, but that is their choice. They'll figure it out soon enough. More importantly, I believe in sportsmanship and respect. Nobody should be trashing little girls. It just ain't right!

Lil Bomber - Couldn't agree with you more and who is trashing kids? My remarks on that team itself were coming more out of frustration than anything else on why were they playing at that tourney because NOBODY even the winning team gets satisfaction or enjoys watching a team get murdered 13-0 or 12-0 like that team experienced. It's a shame that parents form a travel team and not understand what they are getting involved with and the girls have to suffer through it.

For being top ranked teams they swept through pool play easily and then got eliminated in quarter finals. STILL can't win big games. CA took care of business except losing to the AZ Liberty but at least that was in pool play but at least they regrouped on Sunday and did what they were supposed to do.

Biggest surprises and well deserved kudos goes to the Punishers for making it to Championship and beating quality teams on the way. Also the All American Sports Academy had a great run and would be a top 10 in the poll if they were from So Cal.

m3s- Perhaps all teams can consult with you prior to signing up for an event to make sure they have your approval, is there a phone number they can call? Plus I'm sure those teams you critiqued are devastated by your expert analysis, hopefully they can meet or exceed your personal expectations in the near future.

As a graduate of the 10U ranks, all I can say is, keep it up! This is exactly the kind of banter we all live for...

Yes, the rankings are for the parents, if you let your kids on here you're CRAZY! :o

One thing that I agree on with M3 is that there is a point to give your girls the experience, and then there's the point of putting the girls in danger. A pitcher without experience having a line-drive hit right back at them in the temple or the face is not a learning experience, it is dangerous!
