teams getting started

by iou » Mon Jan 17, 2011 5:22 pm

Sophomore at GC pitched and played 1st last year. Not sure of her name but heard she has picked up a lot of speed and much needed consistency. Has worked on her junk too. With her and the junior they could be very good.

What does Noblesville have in the middle now that flak is gone? IOU how do you know so much about one player and not know her name? When you find out everything that she has worked on do you refer to her as Player X or what?

hittin, saw GC play during the school season then happened to run across some of their players playing in the fall. Don't pay much attention to names but can usually recognize faces.

I know who you are talking about. I dont think its so much about talent on that team, its more about the parents and how much they kiss ass. The left side of their infield is dreadful. There were so many errors last year I couldnt count. The outfield this year will only consist of one good player. They do have 2 solid pitchers, but not hoping for much out of them this year.

They did struggle defensively, but alot went into that. Played the entire regular season without their number 1 and 2 pitchers. There senior shortstop was also injured almost all year. Pitching masks alot of problems on teams. How many defenses in the state would look good when there number 3 and 4 pitchers are throwing. I believe the first basemen and pitchers name is Barnhart. She did most of the pitching for them in the regular season. She is a senior not a sophomore though.

I'll give you that, GC did have a lot of injuries last year. Did some checking and the sophomore's last name is Whitaker.

What is Roncalli looking like this year? They are usually pretty strong around here.

Yes, the sophomore's name is Whitaker. She was playing on the JV team and they moved her up to varsity to pitch and play 1st. She really came through when they needed her. She was able to step up as a pitcher when the other pitcher was on suspension. I am sure there was a lot of pressure on her and she did great. Looking forward to seeing her play this year!!

FC should be strong the next couple of seasons, and for the person who thinks that they won't have anything after the junior class graduates, your crazy! They have some sophmores that can play, a few freshmen that will be solid, and as others have said the younger age groups are strong. There have been a few comments about the 8th graders, but the 7th graders this year are loaded! You might have seen a few of them if you watched the Indy Blast 97 & 98 teams. The 97 team had 4 strong FC kids, and the 98 team featured a very good young pitcher. The Edge 97 team has two girls that will be in that class, and one with TM Dreams team. I don't how things will turn out over the next several years, but the talent at FC will not be down!

I'll bite. We'll have a decent team this season. We return six starters and all of our pitching. I guess we'll know a little something right off the bat opening up with Franklin Central in late March. There's a chance we'll see them again in mid-May in the county tourney as well. I live in Franklin township; and yes, there is some very good talent coming up.

Is it true that Pendleton has hired an area travel ball coach as their new high school coach?
