Tournament Options?

Sorry ILB, really hafta disagree with you...

While Arnaiz may be a beautiful facility, the utter lack of real warm-up areas, the jackboots positioned at the gates that are physically inspecting everything from bat bags to women's purses for contraband materials like water and coffee and the very real danger of line-drive foul balls to spectators and players alike makes this a MISERABLE place to be.

Sure, the actual field surfaces are nice enough. But the fact that they are only semi-maintained and we as spectators are forced to pay to see the klids play makes it ridiculous. Heck, they've even screened the outfield fences in an attempt to keep people from knot-holing a game!

Quality of play does however, reign supreme when it comes to games so I suspect the lemmings will continue to follow one-another back to Stockton year after year :(

Like i said.... from a COACHES perspective.

I dont get searched, we warm up across street at the park, and fields are VERY WELL maintained.

So all of your complaints are not issues for myself.

I personally would play at Rainbow fields in Modesto EVERY weekend if they had quality teams. 10 minutes form homes, good fields... but weak competition.

Tournaments in Stockton are well ran.. we just need better quality fields.

If we are at Arnaiz every weekend, I have only 1 issue to complain about.

blue...I implore you to pencil in for the ASA one in sacramento....get the magic, breeze, heat, sorcerers, sting....and watch everyone come. It just takes a couple of teams to sway people. If you have 3 of the top 5 big name teams playing in one spot it will lead teams there. You dont have to pay for tourney yet, so pencil in and start the movement!! Where is the Magic, thats their stomping ground....Breeze, where are you at? The sacramento teams that are good, first have to commit as that wont look good that the best sacramento teams wont even pencil in. When I used to go to so cal a lot more often for games, I just loved the facilities/grounds crew/ and lack of gate fees or nazi gate men. I usually always buy from the snack bar even when I have brought something, even if its hot chocolate or coffee, to help out the cause a bit. So lets get it going!! Someone always has to be the first , in order for change to happen.

We are not a big name team. We are nobody, so us going anywhere wont cause any wave of teams to follow. We are small time...........

I disagree, I think the concensus around town is that your older teams are solid, and Im sure your younger teams will be in the future to...If everyone thought they were small time......no change would happen.

IM sorry...... I thought my sarcasm was evident.

Our 14u team will be VERY good, unless the last 5 years in 14u messed up my views of that division.

I am very pleased with what we have in the younger ages, actually, ecstatic with 14u. Cant wait to start practicing with them.

Well if you saw them twice, you didnt see close to what they will be this Spring/Summer. They have probably 7-8 new players with some really good looking athletes. This team will be athletic, something they had very little of in Fall.

Should be fun.
