I didn't miss by much :)

I'll give my preview of the Tourney tomorrow but Congrats to the top 4.

Hey Hotbox we have been waiting for your insight on the 12u SCC.
I missed it by alittle myself.

I had stated earlier that Tps had defensive problems. So I will retract that statement. You can not win nine in a row, against the really tough competition that was at the SCC, without a pretty good defense. Although I am not a fan of Tps, you got to give credit where credit is due. Those dd's played a heck of a tournment.

Now we can sit back and see what happens in the spring.

Looks like the top 6 going into the spring, in no particular order

Panthers, Force, Tps, Rage, Mizuno and you cannot leave out Smash. They did not have a good SCC but they are a very good team.

Slappy I know we(Storm Elite) didn't show well, we totally gift wrapped a win for the Panthers and we let Mizuno come back and take the game away from us. We have work to do no doubt but contend come Spring absolutely. I think any of the 7 teams could beat each other any given day. It's going to be a great and exciting Spring let the marathon begin.

There were several good teams that I did not include. Yourselves, Power, Peppers just to name a few more. I more or less was naming the teams that finished high in the SCC because that is probably were the top 5 are going to come from for the start of the Spring campaign.

I agree that any team on any given day can win over another team. This is all just speculation and to give us something to talk about while the dd's get rested and healed up over the winter break.

As usual, Hot Box, is running about 40%. Looking forward to the notes tomorrow. No offense HB.

Very good tournament!

As usual, Hot Box, is running about 40%..... Awww ……. Don’t hate on me. I took a shot like everyone else did. I forgot about the Panthers is all? I screwed up and went with the Smash.
Speaking of the Smash did they have two 99 teams at the tourney. What a disappointment they were. I should have done my homework before I made the list. Smash98 didn’t even look like the same team. It’s my understanding that the reason why they took a beat down is because they were lacking 4 pickups players. Is this true?
TPS98 - as always a pleasure to watch. This team could have 20 errors on the field and come back and score 15 at the bat of eye. I don’t understand it. I do have to say this…. more than one team had TPS in trouble but they manage to hold off the wolves. Sticks struggled a bit; pitching looked solid except for last inning against the Force but over all looked solid. Congrats TPS98 heck of a way to end the fall
Panthers – The Dark Horse. You got me….. Congrats….. I had the pleasure to watch these dd’s they resemble TPS in a lot ways. Size, Bats & defense. Great job girls. Look forward to watching more of this team.
Force – the forced flexed their muscles a bit and put TPS98 into the loser bracket earlier with an upset in the last inning to win 5-4. I have to say congrats to beating TPS and making them see the whole bracket this was a new experience for them to say the least. There were some gloating and ruffled feathers after this game I wonder why? Reminder… Force coaches if you pick a player up make a sure they’re a 98 and not a 97. If you win with a 97 it looks bad if you do it with a 98 nothing said. Congrats on your finish.
Mizuno – looked solid but struggled a bit against weaker teams but who doesn’t from time to time. HOT HEAD JC got ejected AGAIN for charging an umpire like a wildebeest on crack. Slow your roll and ask nicely you may get the call after all. You’re doing well with the team keep up the strong work.
Peppers – They took advantage of the buy and tripped up some good teams. Unfortunately they hit a brick wall with Mizuno. Must be some bad blood between these two I heard some trash talking going on.
Storm Elite - you guy's are killing me. Just gave it up to Mizuno. You had them right were you wanted them. You have the talent. You guys need to focus on two things small ball and defense and thing will turn around for you. I think you will be contenders in the spring. Remember small ball.
Houston Power – 20 deep roster appears to weigh heavily on the minds of parents and spectators. Lots of talent there but roster is too large. Parents and Coaches lingered in the parking lot a long time is there issues in the organization? This team has the potential to be contenders. If you trim the fat I’m sure you’ll see immediate results.
Rage – still a contender but looked nothing like the Rage I’m use to seeing. Some 99 teams made for some exciting games against them. I’m sure they’ll regroup and make showing in the spring.
Hats off to ALL 99 teams especially the 99 sudden impact they’re a scrappy bunch of girls.
Last but not least the Tournament was prime example how Tournaments should be ran. It was very organized. The fields and facility’s were very nice. I also agree with run rule decision this should be mandatory at most tourneys. GREAT JOB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Why are you not a fan of TPS to the point of where you would state it...they are a 12U team of girls. We have taken our beatings from them, but I respect the way they play the game and have nothing against the team. Is it that they are successful? I have watched them for several years and all I have are compliments for their success. They have won the USFA Nationals as a 10U, and last year placed 17th out of 105 teams at the ASA 12U Nationals as a first year 12U. They must be doing something right to have their team prepared for when it counts...all I can do is respect that success. I am just curoious why you are no fan of this team? You might have a legit reason...I am just curious.

There's no doubt Smash had a bad tournament and there won't be a coach, parent or DD give any excuses. They'll shake this one off and be in the mix in the spring.

Not sure how long you have been in hiding HB but Smash had no pickups at Big Mac and did pretty well. No big deal, just keep bashing 10, 11 and 12yr olds!

Merry Christmas

Easy buddy easyyyyyyyyyy.... I'm not bashing the dd's. It's to the coaches or parents that are reading. I asked a question that's all and made some comments. I was told that they had pickup players. Don't make this about the dd's. It's my opinion that's all. If i wanted to tear into the smash I could as anyone else here could. What I said wasn't out of line. It's what I saw!!!! I'm not sure why ppl are saying you had pickup players. You say you didn't that's fine by me. So what happen? I know this you have some solid players I would like to have. :P

Bring It -- I have the upmost respect for Tps and think they are one of the top 12u teams in the state with a great bunch of girls and respected coaches. I have nothing personal against them. Maybe fan is the wrong word. Its like people preferring the Astros over the Pirates or Dallas over the Giants. There are other teams I enjoy to watch play over watching Tps. Does that answer your Question??

Slaphitter: Yes it does, and there is nothing wrong with that. I think my question resulted from reading all the macho, rip everyone apart reputation for which the Bucket is known. You never know who is trying to create trouble, or who is making an innocent comment with no intent on controversy like you made in your post.

Thanks for responding and have a great Christmas!

OK, fair enough. At the Mac we had one new girl who played with them in the spring but took a break and came back for the fall. Nine players ever since. Anyone posting from the Smash only said "We'll be ready" and "We'll be in the mix". They were ready but definitely not in the mix for this one. You watched us play so no need to ask what went wrong. Can't catch, can't hit, can't run= no winning. This is one of the most aggressive teams out there and our hitting and speed normally carry us. No excuses.

HB, you've been around a while and I didn't realize you had a dog in the hunt in 12U. What team do you hang out with?
