OK OK OK!

You just cant say Donkey Gold wins the tournament!

Here is how it went, the Donkey Gold went through the pools like crap thru a goose.

We defused the Texoma Dynamite 4-2

Then cut the air off on the Texas Breeze 2-0

Returned the Prospects back to the minors 8-0

Plus then watered down the Nitro 8-0

In the brackets our bats came to life! As we charged on like Sherman to the sea!

First we turned off the Texas Force 9-1

Then the Vipers must have felt snake bit as they were downed 19-1

The Fusion went cold in a 15-0 affair.

Met the Texas Breeze and gave them a chilly blow 11-4

Then the wind blew the Texas Breeze back to us in the champiosnship game and we fanned them 2-0!

Now lets see how this happened!

In nine games the Donkeys scored a total of 78 runs, the opposing teams a total of 8.
Our pitchers had a total of 5 shutouts!
Plus Defense was like an iron curtain!

Our girls were all 14U (7th and 8th graders) plus we carried a 9 and 10 year old as ballast.

So to all of the haters and nay sayers like "Justawatcher" who says you cant have a hodgepodge team of pickups who never played together before and expect them to win, well guess what your WRONG!

Not only did we win the tournamnet but our sister team Donkey-Wesier finished in the money at 3rd!

Hoofless Joe

Sounds like you had a pretty good weekend. Unfortunately, you didn't mention seeing TNT in your list of conquests. Also two teams that would have given you competition dropped out at the last minute. I guess you got lucky and caught Fusion off guard. Most teams don't play as well in the cold. I guess yours handled it better than the others. You would not have been able to get through TNT, Batbusters, Legend, AND Fusion. I'm not trying to take anything away from your girls. You just need to be a bit more realistic.

OMG, Justawatcher what are you smoking?

You need to get real and re-evaluate your position.

Here is a list of extra excuses you didnt use.

1. My nails are not dry!
2. I cant get my unifrom dirty
3. It costs to much
4. Your players are bigger than mine
5. I broke my bat
6. I have to get my hair done
7. Lost one of my cleats
8. Our #1 pitcher is at her Grandmas this week

I told you we would be in the championship game and you said no way can a hodgepodge of players do that!

Just admit it you were wrong.

This was not luck or so and so did not play or dropped out at the last minute.

If you have friends on the Texas Legend, Breeze, Fusion you might ask them what they think about the Dallas Donkeys! Ask TNT if they want to tangle with these Donkeys, hell they got knocked off by Fusion. Ask the Fusion coaches how many of his girls got to 2nd base versus the Donkeys and who he could even pitch around on the Donkeys?

Or if you want to bring this thing to head, put on a tournament invite all these teams that you think walk on water. Since your justawatcher you wont even have to come on the field.

These girls, that played for the Donkeys are all top notch players and no offense to the other teams in Mckinney this past weekend but they were beaten by their betters!

hey brainless JoeRussell! I said I wasn't trying to take anything away from your girls. I'm sure they are fine players for that type of tournament.

OHHHH !!!!!!!!!!!!
Now it's the type of tournament you want to cast a bad light on?
(the same one all of your heros played in)

I forgot to put that on list of excuses!

If you cant come up with a valid reply then just call the other person a "name"!

I made an offer and made a peaceful suggestion.

I can see that you have no authority to act for any of these teams, you just have to have the last word?

I am sure when others read this they will be able to determine who is right and who is wrong?

Have a Merry Christmas!

All right 24hr cooling off period has been reached. Lol! I think the response would have varied a little yesterday, not much but it would have. Lol!

As a parent we want our kids playing against the best teams, talent out there. Really this Donkey's team was stacked and it was great to see. There is not much to be learned from winning all the time but a lot can be learned from losses. When our girls see what it takes to be the best, the confidence good players show, the determination, the way they carry themselves, pitchers hitting spots with tons of speed and spin, etc., etc., etc. It is an experience we want our girls to have. They can learn from this. Our '98 team learned a lot this weekend that's for sure. A least we can go way saying we spanked the Weiser team in a pool game. Lol! Pete's going to be upset with that comment. Sure they were short a player or two in the pool game and yes they came back to beat us in bracket play. We did have you sweating in the last innning though. Lol! But hey as an older team you are expected to beat the younger teams. The Donkey's Gold team, man, if NTX can assemble teams like that and go compete at Nationals look out! Again I don't know how many '97's, '96's or even if they had any '95's but to put talent like that together is just plainly awesome!

Great job ladies keep on playing hard and do what you love to do out on the field. As a parent I know our girls will keep working hard to get to the level of play those girls are at.

The only thing we did not appreciate is the coach running up the score. I though that was bush. With a 10-0 lead and bunting, stealing, taking the extra base etc., etc., etc. Especially when it is obvious the girls were over matched by the pitching, please. That's the only negative I saw out there.

Again lots of great talent out there this past weekend. Congrats Donkey's Gold! Ladies keep it up! Keep working hard and stay away from any distractions, you have a bright future in softball. We will see everyone in the Spring and let's all work hard to make Texas softball the best it can be!

No hard feelings whatsoever!

It is exactly why we are playing up. To get better, to play against tougher competition. That was tough though you have to admit.

Again that team was awesome. Our team like you said learned the most out of it and yes we preached to our girls that, that is the way you play the game.

We are actually glad to have had you leave the other tournament to play in ours and that we were fortunate to face you. Honestly your team was better than advertised and as a '98 team it is very rare to play teams like yours as that type of team will stay away from tournaments with younger age groups.

We come from SoCal and that's all you get in every tournament you enter there. Even at the all star rec level there is tough competition there. So we are use to it. Again we were very gald to be afforded the chance to play your team. We are competitors and hate too lose no matter what. We'll be fine, we'll be back! A little butt whooping goes a long way!

Now if we could pick up your '98 it will definitely make us real strong, maybe a little Donkey strong!!! ;)

LMAO....I've watched the donkeys and I've watched TNT and TNT would have killed yall and it wouldn't have even been a close game so back up the conceited train there coach. IMO you couldn't carry TNT's head coach (Grey) clip board in for him, much less coach your team to a championship against them.

Still LMAO!
