What does going dark REALLY mean?

by m3speedy » Wed Dec 08, 2010 5:44 pm

So we just finished our first year of travel and now we go dark. So looking for advice from the veterans if this time means to give our DD's a COMPLETE break from softball to recharge the batteries for Spring or does it mean still working her out until team resumes practices. What is your experience and the best route to go? Thanks

How old?
I see no hope for the future of our people if they are dependent on the frivolous youth of today, for certainly all youth are reckless beyond words.

The travel team with High school players "goes dark", (doesn't play), during the high school season because it is against the rules, (HS).

Depends on how long the team is going dark - is it just until after the holidays or is it longer?

10u going dark in California? Really?
Is your team somewhere the fields are covered with snow or something?

Oh, I thought this thread had something to do with Sammy Sosa's changing skin color...

Anyways, at 10u, let them take a few weeks off at the very least.

As they get older, it's nice to take some time off, but they don't get to very often.
Deserve's got nothin' to do with it.
