Fusion Breakup

by softballrulznut » Tue Nov 30, 2010 7:31 pm

Just curious what people are hearing about the break up of Fusion - apparently Gwyn taking up to half of the organization to start his own?

Sounds juicy. Let's hear some more...? I'll bet the panties got all wadded up and someone said, "See Ya!!!".

I wish I did know more - have been hearing about this in very small bits and pieces for three of four weeks now but apparently some teams/coaches that are moving around are starting to tell players about it so the chatter has increased in the past week or so. Not sure even all the parents involved know what's going on.

Fairly typical this time of year. Relationships start to get stale, the grass starts to look greener...yada, yada...

It usually has something to do with parents pissing each other off to the point that they do what's best for themselves...and not their kids. Seen it, heard it...all through the years...

One problem of note is some of these organizational "leaders" are really just...pretenders. There are some good ones out there...but all too often, politics and the pocketbook get in the way of doing what's right by the kids.

Is this all Fusion or just a certain age group?

from what I hear, just the 16U team left and one of his coaches is putting together a team of 18s from some of the fusion kids. sounds like north texas will continue to be watered down. some of the organizations should merge and put together more talent not break away for the sake of the next big thing or someone else wanting to be the man in charge

Now lets think about that - if you hired "the next great thing" in Gwyn and now all of the sudden he is deciding to take "whatever" half your gold team, half/all of your 16u team and some of your younger teams do you think Slade is going to come on here and tell everyone what an epic failure that turned out to be for his Fusion program?
