Travel coach gets head HS coaching job

Dick "Mitch" Mitchell, coach of the Indiana Twisters, has accepted the HC job at Harrison HS. Here's a link to the local news story.

I'm happy for Mitch but it is bittersweet news. DD has played for the Twisters the past two years, and Mitch, Ron and Brooke have been the greatest people as friends and coaches. But because of Mitch's hire and that Ron and Brooke will be his asst's, that means there won't be a Twisters team next year. So DD is in a position she didn't plan on - looking for a new team after we get home from nationals.

So... if any 18u team has an open spot in the OF and is looking for a lefty slapper with under-3.0 home to first speed, and you're within an hour's drive of Lafayette, let me know. DD is entering her junior year so this is a critical time for her to realize her dream of playing college softball.

You are probably on the older end of the spectrum then. He has had some good teams in the younger age divisions the last few years. I've coached against him many times. Good guy and a good coach. His teams usually hit extemely well.

Yeah, I think they did...the whole chix thing is excluisive ....it has been an organization for 8 years. Very knowledgeable coach that continues to educate himself through coaching, clinics and collaboration.
