Everyone has their reasons for staying on a team or moving on. Those reasons can be justified in the eye of player/parents doing it, doesn’t really matter to me either. This is 12u softball development of the kids and positive promotion of the sport should be top priority.

I thought this topic was about the RM somewhere it got off track. I will have to go back thru it and see who stirred all this up, was it hot box again

I specifically responded because Houston Fastpitch referred to Tex as a hypocrite and said his team was full of team jumpers. He specifically mentioned the Ice. Since I was the only Ice player to move there this year I wanted to set the record straight regarding Ice and TPS 98. It was a major misrepresented comment by HFP.

Furthermore, if HFP was referring to the pitcher that left Ice two years ago and not me, then I will set the record straight there as well. That player stayed down for multiple reasons, the major one because she wanted to. The move was made before the Spring season started. She had a broken foot the entire Fall and never got to pitch competively with the 12" ball. As a coach of Ice at that time I supported the move and held no ill will against the player. I was then, and have remained close friends with her family. While new to TPS 98, unless I am mistaken, all except the three new ones who attended tryouts for TPS after the summer season ended, were on the team last year and seem like a great group of girls. I drafted one of the new ones when she began league play in Baytown and have known the family for several years. Neither the family or the daughter is a trouble maker, nor would I refer to them as team jumpers. I am getting to know the parents of the other player very well and do not see them to be trouble makers either. Therefore, it seems to me that HFP, who you supported with your comments, does not really know what he or she is talking about.

Regardless, these are the reasons for any comments I have made, and they were made because Ice was called out by HFP.

You seem ultra sensitive to this one Jerry and I do not understand why. What HFP said was not all that bad, he was just mentioning several teams and Ice was on of them. You are always very quick to jump on here and defend your dd's teams. Unless it goes a little deeper with HFP, I say just go back to your other site and worry about what goes on there!!

Have a great day!

Need I remind you of this post, ON THIS SITE, just last week?

When a softball site has to discuss beer favorites, I would say most of the real talk about softball is elsewhere. I only respond, and will continue to do so when I desire, when I want to. I usually do not respond on this site because everything reverts to these kind of comments instead of softball related topics.

doittoit had one thing correct...time for me to to end my participation on this topic and go back where the topics are actually interesting on the other site. Today, instead of the trash talk going on here, the other site is actually has a topic regarding a fundraiser for a great cause and another honoring our Veterans. Mixed in is real softball discussion.

I will leave this conversation with a huge thank-you to those Veterans who have given me the freedoms you and I enjoy...I doubt if anyone can turn that into trash talk.

You people are great, This whole thread should be printed out and sent to a film producer and pitched as a reality T.V. show. There was a show on the History channel about some modified racers in redneck country somewhere and I'm here to tell you that the arguments here are much more entertaining.

Helicopter parents, team jumpers, and all sorts of bad behavior go on in girls softball. This would be "must watch T.V."

My daughters are just beginning to play select ball, I searched high and low to find a team that has low drama and good coaches and I think I have. I hope and pray a never feel the need to post a rant concerning a team that consist of 10 year old girls.

Coaches, parents love their children and if they feel that they are being treated unfairly they will find a new team. Parents, coaches will hopefully put the best players in the positions that best help their team win. If your daughter is not in your favorite position for them all I can offer is work with them until the coach sees the improvement. If the kid only picks up a glove for practice and games she won't go far. You have to practice everyday! God bless the girls, protect them from injury on the field but most of all protect them from the parents and coaches! Peace I'm out!

How about pitching it to the Jerry Springer show ? Also if you can go through your dd's entire select ball careers with low drama that will be an unbelievable achievement.Good Luck to you.
