Great topic. 101 is not bad for a summer day. Shiner Bock is decent enough, certainly for a local brew. I'll go with Saint Arnold's since it is a Houston product- if you get a chance, go by their brewery just off I-10 and San Jacinto on a Saturday. Great tastings, although I'm really only fond of their brown ale. Best beer this side of Crecent City's Black Forest or some of Abita's stuff. Saint Arnold Lawnmower is decent, but I could take or leave most of the rest.

I stocked up on Octoberfest... both Sam Adams and Shiner versions. I bought six cases to make it through the winter. I was not overly fond of the Saint Arnold version (too sweet) or the Real Ale sampling. I have to pour both of those and let them mellow for a few minutes... which sort of defeats of the purpose of why I open a beer in the first place. Brooklyn Brewery makes a decent Oktoberfest as well. I'm normally very good friends of anything Breckenridge Brewing Co puts out, but their Autumn ale tasted like spiked maple syrup- ugh.

Best fall seasonal I've tried so far is Sierra Nevada's Tumbler Autumn Brown Ale. It is delicious. Now we're getting into the winter seasonals, which normally are stocked full of fruit. Some taste like fruitcake in a bottle. Sam Adams Winter Lager, Shiner Cheer, 2 Below (New Belgium, I think)... can't stand them. Apricots and stuff. I don't understand why...

Pick up some Tumbler at Spec's and give it a try. Good stuff. I'll be giving it all up for Lent again, so might as well enjoy it while I can.
